Hi....I just found this website and thought I would inquire.

We have reservations for the Wilderness Lodge, October 1-9. We might be interested in renting on the Villa side depending on what the cost would be. Could someone tell me how many points 8 nights would be and what the cost of the stay would be? What are our options as far as rooms and views go? We are 2 adults and 1 child.

Also, I have heard the the vacation clubs don't provide daily maid service. Is this true?

Looking forward to your responses! :earsgirl:

Thank you!

Hi,
If you want a studio room it would cost 129 points for the 8 nights. A 1 bedroom which has a kitchen, living/dining room, and washer/dryer, and a master suite with jacuzzi tub runs 261 points. Keep in mind, Friday and Saturday nights cost about twice as many points as Sunday thru Thursday nights. There is no daily maid service but rather trash and towel service on day 4 and full maid service on day 7. If I'm counting on my fingers correctly, you've just crossed into the 7 month booking window, points from any home resort can be used to make the reservation. Points are sold in the $9-11 dollar per point range. There is no tax or other costs associated with using points - what you pay the DVC member is what the room will cost. Have a great vacation! :wizard:

There was some misleading information given to you. If you stay at the timeshare resorts paying cash you get maid service every day. We stayed many times on cash before we bought into DVC. Maid service every day. If you stay on points or rent points from a member you will get the midweek trash and tidy.

That is true Dave, But if you go with Disney for a stay at any DVC resort you will be paying top dollor for your vacation. Were if you rent out points your stay could be cheaper. Also the only way to receive maid service every day is if you book from Disney.

IIRC, you can get daily mousekeeping even if you're staying on points - but you have to pay some steep fee ($30-40/day?) for it.

If you are interested in trying to rent the points, you can check the forums out here for people that have points availavble.

You could also post a message saying you are looking for X number of points for a WLV stay on these dates. Members that have points ready should be able to reply back to you.

I would not recommend trying to book through Disney for cash as Dave mentioned in another message. The rooms in the villas are VERY expensive on cash, and it would be much more economical for you to rent points.

If you stay in the studio, there would be a fold out couch for your child to sleep in. If it were up to me, and you had the extra money, I'd try to rent a 1 bedroom - your kid could sleep in the fold out couch in the living room, and you get the bedroom with the king size bed and jacuzzi. It's much nicer than always having to go to bed when your child does. Again, YMMV.

We just got back from a stay at WLV earlier this month. We had a two bedroom and received a quote of $40 per mousekeeping visit. We passed.
