Wilderness Lodge Photo Thread- Please feed my addiction!!

How many guests does the Yellowstone Suite sleep? Is there a room at WL that will accommodate 7 people (4 adults and 14-10-7yo daughters). How much does it cost per night in Mid to late May?

Thanks, I am planning a suprise visit for May 2010 for parents us and kiddos.

Maybe you want to consider a 2-BR villa at VWL. They will sleep 8 ppl. One bedroom has a king bed, the 2nd br will have either 2 queens or a queen and a pull out full sleeper. And in the main living room there is another queen sleeper. And you will have a kitchen and laundry as well.

The Yellowstone suite has just one bedroom with a king size bed - but the place is indeed bigger than my apartment! I really did not want to go home - more than usual!

Great pictures, it took me several hours but I made it through all 93 pages today.

I've been debating with myself whether or not to go for a Treehouse Villa or the WL villas, I really like the atmosphere that these pictures depict.

Honestly, if you take this resort out of Orlando and put it in the mountains somewhere with no other attractions around it I believe I'd still want to go to it.

Cuddos to you!:thumbsup2 That is exactly why I removed all of our photos from this thread. I was tired of people coming on here and saying that they didn't have time to look through "all the posts" to find what they wanted to see, so they would ask that you just show them their request. They don't take into account how much time out of their lives someone has spent taking photos and downloading them so they can observe them! If you want to see more photos of the Wilderness Lodge, I would be more than happy to share them with you! Just PM me and I will send them.:thumbsup2 Hoping you and yours has a MAGICAL TRIP!:cool1:

Thanks, I'm definitely interested and will PM you when I will have a chance (if I have the ability to PM with so few posts).

I actually downloaded several of the pictures to my computer throughout the thread if they were in a series taken from the same spot but just a slightly different view and then used some panorama software I have to make larger panoramic views just to get a more full view in one image as opposed to seeing the view in 2, 3 or even 4 images. Yeah, it's a little overkill on my part but I'm one of those people that wants to see as much of the photo as possible and if I can combine 3 or 4 photos to give a more full view then I'll do that.

When I do go I plan on taking many photos even to the extent of being able to make full 360 degree panos where you can, on a computer navigate the picture to "look around". I'll either do it all manually one picture at a time or get some lenses for my camera. I've even seen full 360 degree panorama videos where you can actaully navigate around the video!

I've only been to Orlando twice, once in 1974 when I was 5 and once in 1997 with my niece and her husband (who was a true Mickey freak lol). He passed away about a year after that trip (at 24) so I've been wanting to make another trip sort of in his memory ever since.

I know that he'd have loved the Wilderness Lodge!

I've been pricing everything from rental houses to the cheapest Disney resort and this one looks like the only one that really suits my wishes. The Fort Wilderness cabins look good too but the WL really has everything I want it seems and by renting points it looks like I can do what I want for cheaper than the All Star resorts!

I want to send a big THANK YOU to all who have posted pictures here. I have to admit, I skipped around a bit while "working" but they are beautiful. My family and I are going in September, my parents are taking us as a Christmas gift. I am so grateful!!!! It will be my sons (4 & 3) first trip to Disney - how spoiled, it took me 35 years to make it to the Wilderness Lodge :rotfl:

After seeing the pictures (some of you are wonderful photographers - AMAZING!) I am more excited than ever. Looking forward to my magical trip this September!

njprincess,

We haven't really decided on the date yet. I have my Aunt and sister helping figure out what weekend would work best for my parents without tipping them off about the trip. I should know real soon. I am hoping it is the first or second weekend. We plan on doing a Fri-Mon or maybe even a Fri-Tues trip. I will keep you posted as I figure it out. I am planning to book in August this year though (yikes--next month-WOOT!) I already have a semi itinerary laid out on paper.

I love the waterfall shot topdog! I don't think anyone has captured it like that before. Beautiful as always!

Not sure if I posted these on this thread before or not. These are from our trip in Dec 08. DH and I just decided that we will finally get to stay at WL next Sept. :cool1:

Great pictures. I couldn't help but make a panorama from the ones that were in line and possible to line up. The one that displays below is smaller than the full size of course.

Wow, that's awesome VaBeachGuy. I have no photoshop skills at all so that is amazing to me. Great job!

Thanks, I have a lot of fun doing it. Photoshop does have a panorama option but I used a program called PTGui. You just load the pictures and if they're in line with eachother it'll automatically make the panorama for you. In some cases if one photo is off a little and the software can't quite work it out you might have to go in and set control points to tell the software where identical points are in the 2 pictures, then it takes those control points and can line it up.

Sometimes it works out perfectly, sometimes it gives you some odd pictures lol.

Be warned though, it can be addicting lol. When I first got the software I was taking pictures of anything in my view just to play with the software. I even went so far one time as to make a full 360 degree panorama of my back yard that you can move the picture around and look all around the whole yard.

The key is to take pictures with panoramas in mind so that the images will fit together properly.

That's realy cool!
We are going in Dec...I can imagine how pretty the Christmas decorations would be in panorama like that.

Just be sure to stand in one spot and take the pictures so that part of the scene from the last picture is in the next picture. That way they can be stitched together properly.

This one is from 2007. My sister and I were eating at WCC and wanted to look around the resort a bit and I took a few pics. I think this one come out the best of the bunch I took. Anyway that is the reason why I am now staying at the lodge for the first time this Sept. I cant wait!!!!!!!:cool1::cool1::worship:
