It is a toss up between the two for me. Any opinions? I was concerned about travel time from CBR plus, I can't get a ressie for preferred room right now. The times listed in the Unofficial Guide REALLY scared me! We will spend most of our days in MK and thought WL would be a good choice for easy transportation. DS is 5 and might enjoy the resaturant in WL. I'm SO confused. :confused3 PLEASE HELP!

We like CBR and love WL. If you can afford WL, go for it. The boatride to the MK is a definite plus and the hotel is beautiful.

We've stayed at both, and while we now prefer WL, one of my sons was 6 when we were at WL and he loved it there then. The CBR transport times aren't bad, but Whispering Canyon is great for kids to eat at, and the boat ride is fun. I don't think you can go wrong -- we're going to CBR next year, but I think you'd love WL too.

We've also stayed in both and we love WL! I thought the boat ride to the MK was so relaxing and my DD just loved being out on the water. We loved the water mice and the option of taking the boat to the CR and picking up the monorail. The theming is great at both resorts so that's a matter of personal taste. The CBR is very spread out so that was a minus for us. You'll have a great time no matter what your decision.

We love WL, CB is ok but it has been years since I have stayed there. We have stayed at WL 2 times and are staying at the Villas this May. Wispering Caynon is a experiance all in itself, especially if you have kids. We thought the boat ride was a tour around the lake.

Is that Caribbean Beach Resort??? There is no way to compare that with WL! CBR is nice to look at, but it is 100 miles to EVERYTHING and the bus service is impossible, not to mention the beds that have springs sticking out.

WL is still not a like a luxury hotel but it is miles above CBR. The boat, the beach, the lodge, WL is a true Dis experience. And, we hardly ever had to wait for transportation and never, ever, had to wait for the 3rd bus at the end of the night with cranky kids in tow.

It;s like comparing an extry level Toyota(whatever they replaced the old Tercel with) and a loaded Toyota Camry. CBR is nice and I certainly did enjoy my stays there but it in no way compares to the WL. If you can swing the price definately go for the WL. You will NOT regret it. :rotfl2:

WL with out a doubt. We've stayed at both. The one nice thing at CBR is that each cluster of hotels has its own pool. The pools are not themed, but we found ours was never crowded and the main pool was always PACKED. We did not like the long walk to everything at CBR and found the room was very dark. We also really enjoy the balcony at the deluxe hotels. Good Luck with what ever you choose.

Stayed at both. CBR transportation to parks is not very good. Wilderness Lodge Resort is one of the best facilities in all of WDW. The transportation to other parks is a little bit better than CBR.

WILDERNESS LODGE :cool1: I've actually never stayed at CBR, but have read that it is a really huge place (translate: a lot of walking to get to bus stops, resturants, the pool, your room.....) WL is beautiful, and we really enjoyed the boat ride to MK.

Just went back and read your orginal post. Looks as if transportation is your concern. I was also concerned about transportation last April before we stayed at WL. I believe I read on the boards that it was a problem at one time. During our stay we did not have any problems with the bus transportation. It was very timely. Boat transportation is a great option also to MK. It takes time, but you really get to "enjoy the ride". My kids loved it. Again, WL hands down over CBR.

You're comparing a moderate with a deluxe, so there are going to be obvious differences...but how much time are you really going to spend in the room anyway? For what it's worth, we really like CBR, so much so that we're staying there again this year. We never had any issue with the buses and getting to the parks. The food court was right across the bridge from our building. I personally don't like pools, but the rest of the family enjoyed the main pool as well as the quiet one by our building.

I've stayed at CBR once and WL several times. If you're planning on spending most of your time at MK, stay at WL. The boat ride to MK is wonderful! We used to boat so many times on our last trip. It is also great to get the monorail to TTC or the monorail resorts.
The lodge itself is wonderful. CBR was nice, but the travel time to and from the parks is a pain. I believe it's closest to MGM and Epcot.
I would take WL over CBR any day. That's why we're staying there again in July!

:woohoo: :cloud9: :yay: The Wilderness Lodge is my absolute FAVORITE resort on WDW property!!! :thumbsup2 I LOVE this resort for so many reasons. :cool1: :goodvibes

1. It's compact, so it's easy to get anywhere at this resort.
2. All the rooms are in 1 building versus several.
3. Boat to the Magic Kingdom & the Contemporary for the monorail.
4. 2 pools & 3 hot tubs.
5. All around great resort!!!

Have stayed at the CBR, and I'm sure I may be the minority here but, did not like it at all. Way too spread out for my taste.

I've never stayed at WL. I guess I am afraid if I stay there once I will never want to go back to a mod resort. Having said that, I thought CBR was great. It is extremely close to MGM (less than 5 minutes) and Epcot. I always have a car when I go to Orlando, so transportation is no issue. I did take the bus to MK and the waits were minimal. IF you have a car, you can literally park steps from your car at CBR.

Have a fun trip!
