Wilderness Lodge or CBR?

wilderness lodge definitly. i could go on and on about how great i think the wilderness lodge is. if it fits your budget do it. MK is only a great boat ride away. i really enjoyed the boat ride back to WL after a long hot summer day at MK. we often talk about staying at different resorts, even boght into DVC, but we somehow always manage to include WL into the mix of choices to stay at.

ps:looking for an add-on for the wilderness lodge villas

Thanks for all the great responses! The decision has been made---WL it is! For our dates they only had courtyard view. I would like to stay on the side that faces MK so we could possibly see the fireworks at night. Is this something I could ask for at check-in? Is woods view an upgrade from courtyard view? Or should I stick with courtyard?

We had the courtyard view last week, and we couldn't see the MK fireworks. We were able to see the gieser erupt and electrical water parade each night, which was really cool! Either way you can't go wrong, IMO! I love this resort.

Great news! A woods view is less expensive than courtyard. We had a woods view - room 5008- in August. Although we could see the MK fireworks, they were pretty much obscured by the trees. You will LOVE this resort. And ignore all the posts you may see about the boat to MK being a pain. We never had a problem with it. (I think some people think that the boat should appear immediately, because THEY want to go to MK NOW!!) Have a great trip.

oh wow, this is strange. We have been planning a trip to wl and i search and found out that the caribbean beach hotel is $446.00 dollars different. But after reading this, i think we will stay with wl

We stayed at CBR over Thanksgiving. A very busy time at WDW and never had a problem with transportation. We loved the hotel. I am sure there is a large price difference between WL & CBR so don't use the transportation to sway your decision. You will enjoy CBR.

I think in many ways that the WL is the most unique of all of the resorts. While staying there it is easy to imagine that you are not in DW at all. Unless you really try you cannot see other parts of the park from the Wilderness Lodge facilities.

In the past we have stayed at the WL and used their boating and biking equipment to have some very enjoyable days without entering the parks. The Wispering Canyon and Artist Pointe give you a nice variety of eating choices and the cafeteria is a good snack option.

This isn't a knock on the CBR but if money is not an issue you should choose the WL.

We have stayed at bot CBR and WL. We enjoyed both.

At CBR we had a room by the quite pool in Jamaica and walked across the bridge for coffee each morning. We enjoyed sitting on the beach in the evenings - we could just see the high fireworks from Epcot.

We also enjoyed WL - we were upgraded to a courtyard view. Roaring Forks was okay, we liked the activities - Lodge Tour, Hidden Mickey Tour. We enoyed the boat ride to MK and the Contemporary. We liked walking to FW.

That said, if I had the money, and could get a decent rate I would stay at WL over CBR.

RachelQ - how did you book the hidden Mickey tour and WL tour? I am thinking of staying there in December and was wondering if I should book the tours in advance or do thaat when I get there?
