Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge?

I will be in Disney World for one night only attending MNSSHP. In past trips we've always stayed at the All-Star resorts. But since it is only one night, I decide to spoil myself! Has anyone been to both resorts? Which do you recommend?

Both are excellent. You will find many people will tell you to choose the WL because it is close to the MK. If that makes a big difference to you than choose accordingly. The trip from AKL to MK is not that much longer (the bus goes much faster than a boat). In any case you should choose which one appeals to you the most. They have similar sized rooms and the decor in both is good though I like AKL room decore better. I like the restaurants better at AKL but since you are only there one day, that probably doesn't matter.

For a one night stay, I would choose Wilderness Lodge - it's one of my favorites. I like AKL too, but there is just so much to look at I wouldn't be happy there for just one day.

Both resorts have their charm, but I definately prefer AKL over WL. If it was me, I'd do AKL.

Thanks for the help! How are the pools at both resorts? I've seen pictures of the one at Wilderness Lodge (beautiful) but have yet see any pictures for AKL.

The pool at WL is fun because the water flows in from the creek and it is fun to swim against the current and hang on the edge with the water flowing past.
The pool at AKL is prettier and hasd a zero depth entry.
Here are some pics of the AKL pool. Be aware that the foliage has grown quite a bit in the pool area since these pictures were taken.
