Well as you might have seen on other boards, I am getting married in january and am planning our honeymoon for 10 days at Wilderness lodge! Right now we have a woods view, and am very curious if its worth the extra cash. They are sold out of regular views, but I guess we could call back later and see if regular view opens up. Besides the view, what do you think of the lodge?

What tips do people have? Whats the BEST thing to do during a honeymoon? Is it victoria and alberts? what do you reccomend? If you had your honeymoon there, what was your favorite thing? Thanks!

We did WL concierge for 4 nights for our honeymoon, and had a regular view. It was of the roof of the dvc side and the parking lot if I craned my neck. When mom and I went down to do the planning the year before we got the woodsview. And I have to say given the choice I'd take the woods. I wouldn't say you'd be disapointed with a regular view, but take them being sold out as a sign to upgrade. The woods view is very peaceful, and private feeling very nice for a honeymoon. And I believe I could be wrong that it is only like a $10 upgrade, for that I'd say go for it.

Vicki and Al's is great but if your picky eaters is probably not worth the cost. If your steak and potatoes you may not eat enough of the meal to warent the $100 a plate. But it is very nice and very private, and no kids, if thats what your looking for. Any of the signature resturants are great for your honeymoon though, since they're a bit more expensive that lowers the amount of 3 year olds sitting next to you, and they have a more romatic feel. We ate at Yachtsman, and Artist Pointe, and were very pleased with both.

Have a great time

I agree--I would go with the woods view. Some of the standard view rooms have parking lot views, and that wouldn't be as peaceful as the woods view rooms. It's nice to be able to sit out on your balcony and relax.

As far as honeymoon recommendations go, here were some of our favorite things:

--Cirque du Soleil--if you've never seen a Cirque show before, they are really amazing. It's a very unique event that is lots of fun.

--Dinner at Artist Point--since you'll be staying at the WL this would be very convenient. Artist Point is our favorite restaurant on Disney property. It's upscale, but much more relaxed than something like Victoria & Albert's. Plus, we are picky eaters, so V&A's doesn't really suit our taste. Every meal we've had at Artist Point has been wonderful, as has the service. Be sure to try the delicious berry cobbler for dessert!

--Illuminations Cruise--this is a unique experience where you ride on pontoon boats and watch Illuminations. It's a lot of fun, and the view is quite good. If you're having an Illuminations party as part of your wedding, it might not be necessary, but it's fun if you're not.

We love the WL....go for the view in my book as well....As for honeymoon plans dont over book yourself...there might be a lot to see but take time to just be together……Best night we had was room service and champagne...

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! We were married at WL (Sunrise Terrace) and spent the first part of our honeymoon there. We had a woods view but it was actually facing the pool area. There were woods in front of our balcony but the pool was beyond that. It was very nice. DH's parents had a standard view and were facing a rooftop, so that wouldn't have been romantic. One of the things we enjoyed the most was getting breakfast either room service or going down to Roaring Forks and getting something to go and then eating on the balcony, or having a glass of wine out there in the evening. The whole atmosphere of the resort is romantic - the lobby, the winding paths, the boat launch, I could go on and on! And you will love Artist Point, it is a very nice restaurant. We had our rehearsal dinner there. I also recommend Le Cellier for their excellent food and service, although it is in EPCOT and there will be kids. There are so many options - have fun!!

The Wilderness Lodge is a beautiful resort. You will love it. It is so peaceful and relaxing. You should definatly go to Artist Point and make sure to relax and spend time enjoying the hotel. We also love to take the Sea Raycers out while we are there. It is so fun to zip around bay lake.

Here is a link to a ton of photos of the lodge. You can also check in the resorts section to see reviews, comments etc.

It sounds like artist point is a great place. I've been to vic and al's before and it is awsome to, beyond belief really, but yeah its hard cause on some courses there is nothing you like, so you get stuck with something you don't like. Of course I guess that means you try new food, but ooh well.

Illuminations boat ride sounds like a great idea, I've seen illuminations before but NEVER from a boat, that would rock. Actually this is my first time at a disneyworld resort. The times I've gone before we've always stayed off property with my family, as they have a timeshare off property. A few years ago I went to Disneyland and stayed at one of the disney resorts and have become a convert!

You know one thing I am looking into is getting SCUBA certified so we can do the scuba diving in the life of the seas exhibit, that would rock.
