Wilderness Lodge DISrs Memory Box Thread

OOPS - sorry, forgot to post here about our trip to the memory box.

We saved it for our last day (Sept 30th), when we were wandering around the Lodge, taking pictures, enjoying the quiet before we headed out to the airport. The directions were TERRIFIC - and we found the box with no problems. I saw that FloridaCat had already been there that day. We put in our information, and put in our green mickey head with "WL/MLBOOKS/CT" that we had on our pack all week.

We really enjoyed the secretive mission we were on, finding the box and adding to the memories. And we can't wait to someday return to the Wilderness Lodge.

Boo-hoo - guess I need to delete my countdown timer from my profile...

I printed out directions!! I cant wait to go on my treasure hunt.

Fred what a fantastic thing to do:wave: ::yes::

Okay, my DH, DS and I are "physched" to find the box!! Is the path paved? I had foot surgery last week and will be in a hard cast when we visit and will be using a scooter.

Also, I'll be more than willing to switch it with bigger container if needed.

The path is not paved but it is pretty smooth. I don't think you will have a problem except for the last 50 or so feet. Are you going allong with someone to do this?

Fred

Duplicate post. Sorry. System won't let me delete it.

Fred, what a great idea! How fun! Can I use this as a reason to go back to the Lodge?

No problem just don't blame the costs involved on me. :) :teeth:

Florida sand is like "Snow". Unless it has "fat" tires, You may want to borrow a wheeelchair from the Lodge. Cover the tracks before you leave. Good Hunting.

Hey! BluOrchid2, long time no "see" Dick Vemille got KC fans excited?

Drat! Oh well, I'll just go along the path as far as I can then let my DH & DS go the rest of the way.

Stay in the "hard" stuff, close to the mddle and you sould do fine. If you get stuck, treat it like snow, just ease it out. Do not reccomend going on the beaches with it.

Will definitely find it in November. I'll bring something down from New England to put in there. :earsgirl:  ::MickeyMo

We just got back from the WL on Monday! We took the Nature trail and probably walked right by the box but I didn't know about it. Oh well, maybe it'll be there next time... :)

Just got back from "The Hunt" with the Princesses. They thoroughly enjoyed following the directions and the cloak and dagger aspect of it.

We left our names and home town. Everything inside is in great shape. Plenty of blank cards left. In fact it seems that many people must be finding but filling out the cards. I only saw 3 or 4 cards filled out.

DD5 wanted to go and buy 10 pins to leave inside for future finders. I quickly put the ixnay on that idea.

We are having a ball and are feeling like true WL Vets now.:Pinkbounc

Great to hear! Remember, if there are goodies in the box feel free to take one but make sure you leave one to replace it. You may end up with something from the other side of the world!! Just another cool part of the memories box. :)

We're not staying at the lodge when we go in Nov., but we'll make a special trip over there to leave a little something in the memory box.
Great idea Fred, can't wait to see what all happens.

Wow, this is like the Energizer Bunny...it keeps going and going...and we can't wait to get going in January! Do you think my big ol' cowboy hat will fit?!!?lol:laughing:

We found the box Oct 5 and it is still safe. The kids were excited to be on the hunt. I have a picture of my daughter with the box. but i wont post it without your OK. It shows her with the box but does not help locate it. Let me know Fred,

DISBUG POLL

AND THE WINNER IS FOR KEEPING THE WL Memory BOX A MYSTERY!

SO, sorry folks, no photos... you'll just have to go find that box yourself and give it a peak! But one thing I will add, (and wish it had been in the directions!)... when walking down the trail in search of the box, I would pick up a long stick for when you find it!
