For any of you who have stayed at both the Wilderness Lodge (not Fort Wilderness) cabins and the Poly cabins, which do you prefer?

Full disclosure, I have not stayed at either but the price of the bungalows are much higher than the cabins. I personally would enjoy the hot tub more than the plunge pool, and I feel that the cabins are more private. Yea, you would have an awesome fireworks view from the bungalows, but also constant boat traffic from TTC. Both look amazing but if I was splurging, my choice would be cabins at Wilderness Lodge!!

I would love to do a Poly Bungalow. But that price...

I'm not outdoorsy, so the Cabins (or anything at Wilderness Lodge/Fort Wilderness) hold zero appeal for me.

We love the Copper Creek cabins. The bungalows are nice, but they’re rather far from the action of the resort and we don’t love the plunge pool.

Poly bungalows hands down. Right on the water, great view of the fireworks and electrical water pageant. And the plunge pool is quite refreshing most of the year in hot Florida. Also prefer the decor and furnishings.
Really didn’t care for the CC cabins. Behind trees so little/no view of the water or much of anything else. Feel much less private. And really no desire to use a hot tub in Florida weather.

Never stayed in either but all things being equal (including points), then poly bungalow.

But I’m not outdoorsy at all. So wilderness has no appeal. Personally I’m itching to stay at either BLT or GFC villa MK view….

Have stayed in both and for me hands down WL cabins. And that's coming from a big Poly resort fan. Clearly both are great, but the vibe, peace, and serenity of the cabins win out for us. The hot tub is more practical/useful than the plunge pool IMHO. They instantly feel like "home" and have a warm, livable vibe. Plus no noisy wastewater flushing/suction noises.

As someone who "kind of has points for a splurge like this" a few thoughts -

Poly
  • I've heard a few reviews of people who have stayed at the poly that there can be some bug problems.
  • The poly rooms on the right side near the boats seem like they will have some noise if you get put in those.
  • The point charts on the ones at the poly seem silly. I do want to stay, but likely after I can afford to buy a SSR or other deep value 500+ point contract at a steal. Even then, would the value be there? Why not stay at a GV?
  • My current daydream is to find someone with a huge bucket of very distressed points that I can get at the cost of dues or just I ever get blessed with a bucket of similar points to burn them on this thing as a bucket list item. Or option 2 just make enough money with my career and investments that I can just YOLO some points here. Right now, just a bit too much when I have better use of the points.
WL/CCV Cabin

  • More my vibe
  • Like that it's a hot tub out there
  • The points are too close to the iconic 3BR GV at CCV. For example, as I forecast for a future family trip to WDW WL(CCV/BRV) is on the list of options and the 3BR at CCV is 1051 points for the 9 nights vs 991 for the cabin. For 6% more points you get a lot more beds, a bunch more living space/gathering space, etc.
  • The advantage for sure is ability to book at 7 months for the cabins vs the 3BR is hard to get if you don't own at CCV at times....

Just curious as to why these are so expensive, i get that theyre unique, but over 100 points per night, which with selling points could equate to nearly 2 grand a night, is it really worth that?

Do people pay this much in cash?

What is their justification because of good views and private spa?

Im just really trying to wrap my head around it considering most cabins in the mountains go for around $250-300 a night here with a hot tub and snow. I would like to experience the cabins one day and I'm really just trying to justify this, please convince🤣🤣
