Is it normal for Wilderness to be completely booked up? First time trip to Disneyworld planned for September 20-24. Ive been planning for months & picked September hoping for a least a little bit slower month. Now with coronavirus & a free dining promo ending Sept 30th for reschedulers WHO KNOWS 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ Anyways I booked a Nature view room I think in January. Right after I booked that room type became unavailable. Then I started stalking the Nature View fireworks room bc i was on the fence about splurging for a fireworks view... then standard view became available too. Now the last few days, ALL room types are gone. The hotel appears to booked up. Even searching on 3rd party sites, like Tripadvisor etc, I see nothing. I also just noticed Tripadvisor updated Wilderness Lodge’s reopen date to 07/30/20. If i keep this trip, did my semi-quiet trip just turn into a mid-summer crazy??

No, it's not a very large resort in the first place since they converted some of the rooms to DVC a few years ago. I believe there are only 340 regular guest rooms (with varying views). On top of that, I think some rooms are out of commission because they're being renovated. It's a popular resort and it does book up, but I don't think that's indicative of it being crazy when you plan to go.

Also, I wouldn't give too much weight to the Tripadvisor dates they have on their website. There's a thread about it on here and people make some very good points that until it's confirmed by Disney, then it's not to be believed -- and it may simply mean that Disney isn't going to use third party sites to fill rooms until after a certain date. Who knows?

Wilderness lodge became available one evening with sun and fun for August , the next morning it was gone. If it qualifies for discounts , the rooms there normally don’t stick around.

I think there is an issue with the WDW website (shocking!). I checked multiple dates from September through December and no rooms are available at the Lodge (non-discounted rates). I'd give it a few days and try again.

You might have better luck booking a DVC room there--for our dates there was nothing at the Lodge, but Boulder Ridge Villas had availability.

It’s likely to be crazy with deals and rebooking now. January was crazy this year and worse after so before things went crazy with the virus they were crazy at Disney already with the norms out the window this year. Can’t see any change for September.

Don't know if this would work for you, but appears that a fireworks view with king bed is now available for your dates.

I had the same experience this morning. Seems like it must be a mistake.

Had the same issue--I had been watching for two nights to finish our Mid-September trip and it went from wide open to nada in two days. I did book a DVC studio for the same price as a regular room though just in case nothing else opens up. I saw the same king/fireworks view open up and the studio was over $100/night cheaper!

Same here, saw a room for November for a week and it was gone the next day when I went back to book.

I looked this morning for a room around Thanksgiving and nothing was available. I realize it’s over a holiday so that can very likely be the reason.

I wonder if rooms are out of inventory because of the room refurbs. WL is already a small resort, so taking rooms out of inventory will really limit availability.
