We stayed at FW cabins 2-3 weeks ago with our two boys ages 4 and 16 months. We liked many things about the cabins but probably won't return until the boys are older and we can take greater advantage of the perks at FW like the campfires. We regret that we never got to walk more of the trails or rent a boat while we were there. We wanted to spend most of our time at MK and, for us, the transportation issue was a pain. You have to take a bus and then a boat to MK, by the time we arrived **I*** felt like I needed nap and we hadn't gotten the day started yet! However, we drove to all the other parks and that went great. I did like that we were steps from the bus, yet, I never heard it.
The setting was beautiful, nice and quiet. The cabins are not far apart so I wouldn't worry much about security. The extra space was great, as was the kitchen (though be warned, not many actual pots and pans). Our cabin was not very clean, especially the floor and carpets. I had to wash the floor myself and the boys were still black with filth on their pants and socks by the end of the day.
We wouldn't dream of renting a golf cart, very low on our list of priorities. As someone else said, I would rather put that money toward another deluxe resort or, in the case of our last vacation, souvenirs and food.
All the cabins are supposed to have pack and plays (for use as a crib) in the closet. We tried it one night and it was too cramped for us. We ended up requesting a bed rail and put the baby down on the double bed in the bedroom. One side of that bed is against the wall. DH and I slept on the murphy bed in the living room and that was fine, perfectly comfortable for us.
I have a more in depth review in this forum if you wanted to search for it. Or you could PM me for further details. Overall, we liked the cabins but they didn't wow us, however, we predict more stays there - we'd like to have a 3rd child and we'll need the room - and happy memories made there too!
