Brunch at Palo was really sublime - I canceled tea in order to go again. Kir Royale! YUM!

Tomorrow is the girlfriends meet 11 am Cove Cafe!

I guess I'm the only one who logs on, Lampy :-( We see each other often, though. Yesterday was ladies meet at 11 in Cove Cafe. Even though it conflicted with the castaway club meet and Shell cancelled it, 10 women showed up and we chatted for an hour. It was fun - sorry you missed it Shell, we missed YOU!

IT also rained yesterday. I actually 'HAD' a lounger in what would have been a sunny spot by the adult pool, but the gloom, wind and rain chased me indoors.

Tiara Bob very nicely downloaded photos for me to cd. He and Lisa had a nice "mudfight" in the sureal bath, according to reports.

Sarah & Stoney also had a pleasant Spa experience, although they got rained out from the fancy patio suite.

Lynn, Andrew and baby Drew are GREAT table mates - that baby is a huge chow hound and JUST as cute as his photos suggest.

There've been lots of cards and notes flying - I wasn't the only one preparing treats! IT is SO much more fun to travel with friends - THEY are what's making this trip special.

Happy Days, All!

Today was St.Maarten. It was a glorious day and there's no smog here. We took the water taxi over to town and walked about - a whole lot of tacky tee shirt shops interspersed with jewelry stores. I got so tired of saying 'no thank you' to the shills trying to lure us into their shops. If I had it to do over again, I would have taken a taxi tour of the island - the further you get from the pier, the more reasona ble the prices.

I've been allergic to something in our stateroom and had an asthma attack, so I haven't much energy. We were back on the ship by shortly after 11, tee shirts in hand. Bruce went up to the pool, which he pretty much had to himself. It was actually warm! I had a nap and then went too. 3 pm we were down for a nap again, waking up just in time for dinner. Not very exciting, but plenty relaxing.

Well, I wrote a long winded description of the St Martin day and by the time I went to post it the connection had timed out. Some day, i'll reconstruct.

As of right now, this minute, it's a grey morning in port Canaveral and we are waiting to get off the ship. Too bad, so sad, this one is done. (We'll be back!)

High points

The "FairyGodmothers" - YOU ROCK!
Wild Turkeys - you are the most caring friendly funny people and you made this cruise a joy! Didn't matter where we were - there was another wild turkey there to enjoy it with. Every time we were in Palo, there were tables full of us.
Palo - two brunches and one dinner still were not sufficient! AnnieMarie and Marco with the blue eyes - thank you!

to be continued . . .

Howdy Y'all,
just got home.
Had an awesome time meeting everyone.
Sorry I couldnt say see ya later to some of you, but I caught a bad cold on wednesday and so I avoided a lot fo people so I wouldnt spread it. (hopefully)

We had a great time but the highlight for us was really meeting all you great fun people.
Ladies, I am so sorry I couldnt make it on thursday for the second meet some of you had , but I had such a terrible cold and NO voice so i decided I'd better not expose all of you.

Bob, you are still my hero!!! Thanks again.
Gotta go and unpack.
Minnie is driving me crazy!!!!
I will write a better post later.
safe travels to all, I hope those of you headed for snow wont have long delays. i will be waiting to see everyone check in that they made it home safely.

Kathy

:sad2: Very sad day for all of us. We HAD to walk the plank!
We got home about 10:20a.m.

Hope everyone has a safe trip home! I will be looking forward to your postings.

I had a great time. Meeting some of the people on this site was awesome. Sorry I missed meeting some. Maybe next time! Yes, there will be a next time.

It was a pleasure talking with Mina and Jeff and the girls. Stacey really enjoyed her days with both Elizabeth and Emily. She was very sad on the way home. We were unable to make the final good byes to all. Laura was VERY sick. She kept her mom and dad up all night throwing up. On the way home Cullen was throwing up and we had to make a few stops on the side of the turnpike. We were thankful they waited until Fri. evening to get sick!

Kathy, Thank you so much for all your help and for being there for us. Steve said to say Hi and a special thanks to you and Greg both. Hope we can get together some time. :thumbsup2
He wishes we could have spent more time getting to know all of the nana-heads.

Bill, Bob, and Jan - I was glad I got to visit for a few short mins. with you all. I truly wish we could have spent more time with everybody.

Lynn - Drew is a doll! He is so cute and a happy little guy. You are doing the right thing by staying home with him and not working. It sure is paying off! I hope he doesn't get sick too!

Well, going to unpack and wash clothes. Then let me see...I think I'll go to the coke machine and get a drink, get some ice cream, and maybe to topsiders for some lunch!
 Pat

We're home :sad1: and I miss everyone! What an awesome time we had, huh? I think the best part was that no matter where you were, you saw a banana head in the same place! We were in a shop in St. Thomas, and lo and behold, there was Wally, Denise, Wendy, Mike, etc. etc. WE JUST COULDN'T GET AWAY FROM YOU PEOPLE!!! :lovestruc

Will be posting later. Guido had a rough week, so he's not taking his eyes off of us at this point and is out for a walk with Bill. Oh, btw ... 32 degrees and blue skies when we landed, no snow anywhere on the ground.

Love to all ... Thanks to each and every one of you! KEEP IN TOUCH! Don't make me come and find you!

Hey everyone....
Just wanted to say I had an awesome time meeting all of you. I hope none of you tripped leaving the ship. Shell and I left some deep scratch marks as the DCL folks dragged us off.

A final note: Tonya, Bob, Sarah....(and anyone else who may have been affected)... I feel your pain. The stomach thing hit me about 20 minutes after I got home<urp>....pardon. Hooray for me...

Talk to everyone later....
Safe journeys to all.....

OH! Look at our tickers!

HI! Great pic of your gang!
Don't cry Shell. I understand that you are going again soon! Maybe we'll be on the same cruise again.
It was a great experience for us. Thanks for letting us be a  . Just wish we could have had a few laughs with you all.

Glad you arrived home safe and sound. Our Bailey was very happy to see us! He followed me around the house until I stepped on him! oops!

Pat

Bill, Shell,
I was glad to hear NO snow to delay you.

Sorry to hear so many got sick. We had a girl in front of us at the show the last night that threw up and another one in the terminal on the way out this morning. So far only my bad cold here. Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

Guido wasnt the only one with a bad week, Minnie had chewed up 2 throw rugs and was working on a third when we arrived home, plus she had knocked a lamp off the end table in the loft and was chewing up the doily it sat on. So glad the light bulb didnt break or she could of got cut. She also brought in a ton of bark from the beds out back, which our friend cleaned up before we got home.

She wont even let us go to the bathroom without her coming in too :lmao:
Greg had to distract her so I could escape to get some fresh foods.

Loved the picture of you guys!!!!

Bob, I will download some of our pictures on a CD soon and send it to you for the Mosiac (spelling???). You can PM me the address to send it too when you get the time.

Greg and Peter wanted to know what was on the menu tonight. PB and J sandwiches or frozen pizzas were the choices. Reality has set in!!!

Pat, I'm sure we will see each other soon since we live close. You have my e-mail address and I have yours. Hope the babies get to feeling better soon.

Kathy

I found myself strangely drawn to the computer as soon as we arrived home but it took me until now to post. It was GREAT to meet so many of you great folks. I think the day one meet had to set some records at the Promenade Lounge and it was truly great to run into folks everywhere we went.

Some    highlights:

1. First and foremost Elizabeth and Stacey getting to "meet" online before the cruise and then becoming fast friends at the Promenade Lounge Meet and hanging out with each other all week while still each making lots of friends in the lab. Elizabeth asked if she can "meet" someone in advance the next time we cruise too. She was VERY sad to be leaving her new friend and said she wants to move to Florida (yah..me too) and go to Stacey's school. Getting to meet Pat & Steve and Esther and Steve and Cullen and Laura was really a highlight for us as a family.

2. The Sunny Liston tour with so many DIS folks and even running into Cheri & Bill at Sapphire Beach where they had gone on their own. The bus ride back to the ship was great fun too.

3. Having the pleasure of sitting with Pat and Esther at the Martini tasting. Pat was great to have in our tasting session as she scored everyone in the room extra chocolate martini's and cosmos.

4. Seeing DIS folks everywhere we went. Strangely we saw Sarah & Stony at both "tasting" sessions we attended! :-)

5. Spending time chatting with Kelly and Don nearly every day. They were among the folks we saw everywhere and it was really cool to get to know them better.

6. The way cool magnets and t-shirts done by Shell and Tonya, respectively. thanks to both of you for your efforts as it made the trip that much more special.

7. Talking college sports with Dave on a couple of occasions, including some time in the Cove Pool sloshing from one end to the other as the ship was rocking. And Jan wouldn't let me pay up on the drinks I owe her so I have to find another way to pay off my bets!

8. Finally meeting the infamous Shell and Bill, Bob and Lisa, Wendy & Mike, Lauri & Doug, Kathy and Greg, Cheri and Bill, Jan and Dave & Lynn, Andrew and Drew. And truly everyone else -- it was just a great group of people and made the trip even more fun than it would have been otherwise.

9. Getting to attend the debut of Tiara Bob & the Dreamboats. AND getting to see Don belt out "Amy" one of the favorite songs from my youth. I'm way too backward and shy to ever do this so I give major props to those with the cojones to do it.

I plan to post a trip report at some point. If any of you ever make it to the 'burgh I hope you'll let us know so we can show you our town.

Now on the important question. Who else rebooked while onboard? We booked for next year, same week and just hope the ride is a bit smoother! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Need some good sleep tonight. Tomorrow we Christmas-up the house!

Oh and sorry to hear of so many who were sick. Ran into Bob this morning and heard he had a rough time so I'm hoping he and everyone else - especially the little ones - are feeling better. A little girl standing next to us as we waited for our ride threw up all over the sidewalk. So far nothing evil has visited any of us...and I hope to keep it that way.

I have one very sick Mutt here. Bill hit the shower at around 5 and went straight to bed. Ran to the grocery and picked up meds for him. Then REALITY hit ... I have NO idea how to make coffee for the morning, and I can't get it on Deck 9! Let's hope he's better in the a.m. so I don't have to make a coffee run in the cold!

:wave2: Evening all: Well my family room is a huge mess. I have stuff laying all over, I'm cold and sad!!

I had the best time!! I enjoyed metting everyone, what a great group of "new friends" I dont think the cruise would have been as much fun with running into everyone. I think Pat and I kept running into each other the most. Of course Bill and Shell, we could always count on you on deck 10 :) .

Yes reality has kicked in and also kicked us in butt. It is freezing out here. Snow and ice. Yuk

Then at the airport here in Chicago, I called my son and found out that my dad had taken a fall today on the ice and broke his fall with his face. :sad2: He is 91 and broke his nose. Cut up his hand and had to have stitches. Luckley, my sister lives a few miles away, and took him into the ER. He will be ok, but I guess he is pretty sore right now.

Well, have to finish cleaning up this mess down here.

Take care and talk with ya all later.....
Denise

Lauri, hope your flight was on time. Long day sitting at the airport..

JD99, when you say you re booked same time next year, are you referring to the 11/24/07 Eastern??? If so, I have a thread going for it already, please join us.

Add another sickie to the list. Peter got hit about midnight and is very ill!!! Nausea and stomach pain. Hope this is only a 24 hour bug?? Anyone on the upside yet?? If so, how long did it last???

Bill and everyone else here is some pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: to help you to get better soon.

Hope we hear from more people checking in as they return safely to their homes.

will check back soon,

Kathy

Then an old man decided to get up and go to the bathroom when we were being taxied in and the crew stopped the plane till he came out. That was other 1/2 hour :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: . Wait then our luggage took and hour to come. All in all we arrived home at almost 8pm!! Drew was a tropper ;) ;) !! Oh, and too top that off we came home to 40's degrees and snow flurries :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: !!! Can I go back to Castaway Cay???
