You guys and gals have me wanting sushi now! Lisa and I may have to go eat Japanese tonight, if I make it home before 7:00 p.m. Otherwise it may be fluffernutter sandwiches!

What in the world is a fluffernutter sandwich?! Is that some kind of southern thang???!!! I tried red-eye gravy a few weeks ago when I was in Raleigh. Talk about BLECHHHHHHH! :scared: And the worst part is ... I actually asked what is was before I tried it. (for those that don't know ... it was described to me as -- and I quote -- "Ham drippin's and coffee")

GO CAVS!

Shell, you pooooor sheltered child. Red eye gravy is perfect with country ham, a little bit over your grits (you do know what those are, don't you?), or with a biscuit for soppin (that means to dredge your biscuit through the juices left on the plate after the food is gone)! :stir: Sounds like Lisa and I need to meet you and Bill for breakfast at a Waffle House in Florida to introduce you to the finer things in life.

As for a fluffernutter, that is by no means a southern only thing. A fluffernutter sandwich is made with marshmallow creme (fluff) and peanut butter. It is a stick to the roof of your mouth, sweet shot of sugar rush!

Geez, you mid-westerners have to got to realize there is more to life than buckeyes, corn and beef! And by the way, which Cavs are you talking about? Cleveland or Univ. of Va.? :rolleyes2

Nope, not a southern thing. My kids love these and eat them often. But they'll eat marshmellow fluff with anything.

DW gets mad at me because I can sit there with the jar of fluff and a jar of peanut butter and a spoon. I do fluffernutters without the bread! Maybe that is why I have my own jar of peanut butter at the house!?! :confused3

It is also good on cereal bars! Peanut butter is good on anything! In the words of my father "Man cannot live on bread alone, but give him a little peanut butter and he will be alright!"

OK Bob, let's take these comments one-by-one, shall we?

1. Yes, I do know what grits are ... I have mine with butter and Equal (that should make any southerner's skin crawl!). I have instant ones in my cupboard right now, but as we all know from My Cousin Vinny: "No self-respecting southerner would make instant grits".

2. Soppin' ... we cultured northerners call that Delicately Dunking ... and we don't do it with anything that incorporates "ham drippin's and coffee" as the 2 major ingredients.

3. Waffle House, huh? I want to go to a Biscuitville!

4. "Buckeyes, corn and beef" you say? HA! You're so wrong! You forgot about pierogies, kielbasa, and pork & sauerkraut!

5. There are other Cavs in the world besides the ones that are up 3-2 against the #1 seeded Detroit Pistons in the NBA playoffs??? Well I'll be darned ...

OMG - :yoda: I have never heard of anything like this. Maybe it's an American thing?? I do notice a difference in the groceries in the stores down there - so even though we are next to each other, there are definately some differences too!!! I'll look forward to some 'edumucation' when we meet!!

CHILDREN! Move over Bob....lemme get my lawnchair down beside ya...I wanna watch this. Woo loves grits, hates corned beef and isn't too wild about perogies or kielbasi... I have 6 months to exercise just to come close to Ron in the bestest legs contest so I'm gonna steer clear of all that stuff til the cruise.

Honey...baby...darlin (not you Bob!) We need to stay humble about the cavs...we have NOT won yet. You KNOW how cleveland sports are. Easy does it...hope and pray, its good for the city.

Enjoy everyone!!! This cruise is gonna be a blast...we have good people here! :dumbo: :simba: :stitch: :goofy: :tigger: :sulley: :ccat: :mickeyjum :donald:

From the sound of things around here maybe we should have a cruise meet in the fitness center, :rotfl: we could ask if they have a boxing ring for people to meet at!

Fluffernutters are awesome!!!!! :thumbsup2

If the kids are being noisy, give 'em one of those sandwiches and they wont be able to open their mouths for a couple of hours!! :rotfl2:

Have a great weekend everyone,

Hello Kathy,
The newest cruiser is doing really good. This week he will be 3 weeks old.
I am getting sleep thanks to my DH because we have been taking turn getting up at night. He is eating every 3 or 4 hours!!
He went to the Doctor for his first check-up and he is now 7lbs 7oz. I am not sure how to post pictures?? How do you do that?? Talk to you soon..

Hi,
Glad to hear all is well at your house. 3 weeks already, it doesnt seem tha that long to me.
What I do for pictures and keep in mind I am learning and a newbie at this.
Once you down load pictures on your computers go to www.photobucket.com and make yourself a family photo album there. Once you do that you can post pictures. I had to struggle with it a lot, but others on this thread helpe dme with hints on how to do it, so if you try and dont understand the directions, tell us what point you are at and someone will be able to talk you through it. It may not be me though I am still learning, but if I can do it, so can you!!!! When it comes to computer stuff I am about a smart as a stick in the mud!!!
I sure hope you can figure it out because I would love to see some pictures of the wee one before he starts college!! Ha! Ha!
Have a great weekend and please dont hesitate to ask for help with the pictures!!!
kathy

Hey Kathy,
Thanks for the info on the pictures. I am going to try it with my DH because he knows alot more about computers then me. I just learned how to download my pictures on to my computer!! Hopeful I will get them posted this weekend. Have a great weekend !!!
Lynn princess:

I hope that everyone is having a good weekend. The weather here went straight from early spring (70/50 h/l) to August (87 degrees right now). It is beautiful, but dang that is hot when there is no water around (I need some beach time).

As far as the edumacation, do I need to be prepared to teach a class on Southern 101 when we meet up? I am sure some of you need to learn about the finer things in life that only the south can provide! I promise that I will leave out the chitterlings (or, as pronounced properly, chitlins) :stir:

Well it has finally stopped raining here ... after what seemed like 2 straight weeks of continuous rain. It's about 60 (below average) and Bill is tilling the garden as I write. He added another 40 sf, and I bought 12 roma tomato plants, 6 banana pepper plants, 3 habenero pepper plants, 3 red hot chili pepper plants (I have named them Anthony, Flea, and the last one is JohnAndChad), celery, lettuce spinach, carrots, peas and green beans. So we have a busy summer ahead of us. :sunny:

I just can't wait for my southern-fried edumucation. Hmmm ... I'm guessing Chitlins and Biscuits 101, Introduction to Talking with a Twang, and Civics: We Coulda Left Y'all, Y'know. :lmao:

:wave2: Hi Bob and Lisa!
