Dutchsmommy,
Hope you have a great trip. It is pouing rain the past 24 hours in central florida. It is suppose to be drier next week but some days are a little cooler than normal. So be sure and bring jackets for everyone!!! You'll need then in the mornings and evenings for sure. The good news is that the parks have not been very busy because of the cooler weather, so you shouldnt have a lot of long lines.
Give us a trip report when you return so we all can share in the fun. It will help us get by until the cruise gets here.
have fun!

Today is January 25th and that makes 10 months to go! :woohoo:  :cool1: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :thumbsup2 :yay: (not sure how many more "good vibes" smilies there are!)

Welcome to MamaKate...you've officially been added to THE LIST. If you feel comfortable I.M.'ming me, I'm also adding cabin number, dining assignment, kids' names and interesting facts about the DIS'ers to the list...anything you'd like to share.

Happy last days of January,
Jamie

Hi Jamie: Our cabin is 5508. Traveling with family total of 13...ages of children if I can remember (all great nieces/nephews) 15-14-11-7-5. Three oldest are girls the youngest are boys. I believe we will be celebrating the 14 year olds birthday on board. As this is her golden birthday.
Dining assignment is 6pm.
Thanks
Denise

Jamie, we have our cabin numbers too, and although I am still going to try for deck 7, we are in 2135 and 2137. We will probably stay with these, because I was lucky to even get 2 connecting 10's....I just hope it will not be too noisy, we will be right under the entrance of Parrot Cay it looks like. :goodvibes

Thanks for your room numbers. I've added them to the sheet.

Michelle, I wouldn't worry about your rooms being under Parrot Cay. At night, when you're sleeping and trying to have quiet, that part of the boat will be empty. Maybe check to see if there's a room review posted on the DIS to be sure but I think you'll be fine.

Happy Monday everyone. Another week closer to the trip.

Happy Birthday Dutch and Happy Visit to Mickey's House!

Thanks Jamie. I think that it will definitely be better than being under a night club, or area that has activities later at night. I remember Parrot Cay being pretty deserted most of the times except at mealtimes, and that should be no problem for us! But it is good to have others' opinions! :teeth:

Uh-oh! You are in the room next to us, now DW and I will have to behave! We are in 6634!

Thanks for all the well wishes for DW. She went to our family doctor on Friday, and he seems to think it is just esophogeal spasms. She is on a medication to see if that will ease the problem, and will still follow up with the cardiologist this week.

Received good news today: A friend of ours who works for a division of Pepsi called this morning with tickets to the Rolling Stones here in Atlanta tomorrow night, and it is their private suite. That makes it NIIIIIICE!

Tiggerking,
It will be great to be next to someone form the dis boards. ;) Are you going to put up door signs too???
Don't worry about behaving yourlseves, because we never behave ourselves!!
We are too old to worry about what the neighbors think. :confused3 As long as you dont snore loudly we'll get along great!
But i should warn you DH does snore sometimes, but you can bang on the wall and I'll give him a quick jab! Ha! Ha! :lmao:
We are really getting excited for this cruise. We origianlly had back to back cruises with this cruise but we had to change our 2nd cruise to September. So we still have 2 weeks, but they are at different times now. :cloud9:
I have my pirate costume, pirate: just need to get something for DH. He usually wears a bandana and a pirate t-shirt which looks good too. I need to start thinking about door signs. Last cruise I had 3 of them. We spend a lot of our free time strolling the hallways just looking for door signs. We saw lots of really cool ones and got some good ideas from them.

I'm glad to hear your wife is doing much better now. :thumbsup2 Please send her our best wishes and that I am looking forward to meeting both of you, especially since we will be neighbors for a week. :grouphug:

That is really cool that you guys will be next door neighbors! :teeth: On the last cruise we were on--last November 26, we were not next door, but 2 doors away from another DISer. It was great to see them all of the time as we were coming and going out of our rooms.

And TiggerKing, have fun seeing the Rolling Stones. You are lucky to have great connections! :thumbsup2

On our first cruise in 2004, I am walking down the hallway and hear someone behind us yell "Bob!". Now, DW already accuses me of know someone everywhere we go, so she is thinking "Who now?". Well, I turn around and it is another DISer who knew my cabin number, saw it on my life vest, and called out my name. :rotfl2: We all started laughing!

I don't know if anyone looked at the posts about the NASA launch schedule, but as of right now, there is an unmanned rocket launch and a shuttle launch both scheduled for our CC day. If they go off as scheduled, we should be able to see them while we are on the island. If the shuttle takes a delay, as it typically does, and delays until Saturday, we will be at the port for the launch. That would be totally awesome to cap the cruise off with a shuttle launch! :woohoo:

Hey TiggerKing...say "hey" to Mick and the Boys for me! Have a great time tonight.

It would be very cool to see a launch. Would help with that "educational benefit" part of getting the kids out of school too!

A shuttle launch during our cruise would be awesome :Pinkbounc I'm not sure who would be more excited my DS or DH :rotfl2:
Well I am off to Home Depot again, I am sure they know me by name now
Wendy

We are booked for the November 26th Wonder Cruise...anyone else???
We are so excited even though it is so far away. We have tried to recruit family members, but no one is interested....they are crazy!!!!

A shuttle and/or rocket launch would be great.

When we were at WDW this past July we got to see Discovery while we were there. We went to Titusville to see the launch. We were directly across the water. It was something I had always wanted to see.

I would be so excited to see another one!

TiggerKing- I hope your wife is doing better.

I just had to voice my excitement! I have been waiting for the Shades of Green to sell out so I could get an overflow rate at the Pop Century. I've been calling every day for weeks now and a little over a week ago there were only 7 rooms left. Finally today they were sold out and I was able to book the military overflow rate!!

So now I'm all set with my hotel reservations, except for the one night on Tuesday during our drive down!

We saw an unmanned rocket launch about a year and a half ago. We got on the Magic around noon, went straight up to deck 10 and about 15 mintues later it blasted off. It was really neat to see, and we got it on our video tape too. There were a lot of people on deck to see it.
Usually we can see all the launches from our back yard, but it was a lot different being that close. We will be sure to keep up on the launch while on board.
Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Congrats Melanie! :thumbsup2 I am still thinking that Pop Century may be where DW and I end up on Friday night. We had a blast there the night before our last cruise.

Kathy,

That is awesome the rocket was launched 15 minutes after you got on the ship. What a way to start a sailing! I really hope we get lucky and see one of them. I would LOVE to see another shuttle launch. We will definately have to keep updated.

TiggerKing-Thanks. We are actually staying at the Radisson the night before the cruise. I'm not sure I'd want to drive that far that morning. I feel better being right there.
