So I'm thinking about seeing if there is any availability for this tour on my upcoming trip. Could anyone tell me more about it? It would be for my last day there. I would only be able to do it if I booked the 8:00 tour. I have a lunch reservation at 1:00 at Saana that I don't want to miss. Thanks!

It's a 3-4 hour tour and they will feed you so not sure if it's worth it on the same day you have a 1pm reservation. The thing I really liked wa the guides take pics the whole time and will upload pics to a website you can download later. We had over 150 pics on ours and were very good quality. Definitely worth it if you like AK and getting behind the scenes with the animals. You also take a private safari that stops periodically as you go.

Thanks. Do I have to eat the food they offer? I really want to eat at Saana. And is it a lot of food?

You can inform them that you do not want the food, but it comes with the tour. They will still charge you for it.

It doesn't look like a lot of food, but all in all, it actually is.

Depending on how long it takes, you MAY have trouble making a 1 PM ADR. If you are in a backstage area they will not let you leave unescorted. I am sure if you ask to leave they will take you out.

I haven't been yet (Booked for Dec) but the videos I've seen look like a very nice lunch. Not huge, but enough that I would't want to splurge on an expensive restaurant immediately after.

It is a lot of fun. We did the 8am tour & still went to lunch at Yak & Yeti for 12pm. The food they give you is good, but we didn't eat it all, because we are picky eaters. I think you'll be fine going to your lunch ressie.

Thanks everyone. I spoke to a CM about it. She said it is definitely not a lot of food and she would not recommend doing it on my check out day. So I planned it for my second day there at 11:45 and won't need to worry about eating until we get to V&A at 5:30. Thanks again!

We just did it in may, its not a lot of food, but it was one of the best experiences we have had at WDW ... just awesome ! Enjoy !

Thank you! Glad to hear you enjoyed it so much. The CM said it was 3 hours. Did you find it ran on time? Another poster said 3-4 hours and I'm just trying to make sure it won't interfere with our dinner.

Ours was almost 4 hours, We had a pretty large group, so everything takes a little longer if the group is larger, we also had some really awesome animal behavior that we stayed around a little longer than normal to watch, and the lunch I think people just were a little slow, its really not too much food, but the outlook where you eat is just AMAZING, the view and the pictures are just ... unreal.

Do you get much closer to the animals than in the regular safari? I was reading a trip advisor review and they said that the only difference was walking on the bridge. To spend this much money I would hope it would be more than that. Thanks!

We did it with our daughter and loved it! The experience was amazing. You get so much information about each animal and how Disney take care of them. For my daughter was important because she loves to learn new things. You get closer to the animals but it all depends on how the animals react that day. We had a baby giraffe very close to the truck. He was very curious about the truck. The food was not a lot, but it was enough. We ate in front of the elephants. It was an amazing experience.

we are thinking to book the Wild Trek in August, if we book the 12 O clock we would save $100 for 2 tickets, the morning tour has no discount, I am concern about the heat in the mid of the day.

Any thoughts how hot it is in the noon tour? Thanks

Funny. I booked the 11:45 tour for August and JUST switched to 10:15 (losing the discount). I also would rather an earlier time thinking about the heat. I would really like even earlier but wasn't available. We have reservations at 5:30 for dinner and I was getting nervous about running behind since the tour can be almost 4 hours.

Um yes, it is quite a bit different than the safari, and you do get much closer to the animals, MUCH actually. And you get to stop, relax, when the animals come close you don't have to keep on moving. Its really really great.

It was not a LOT of food, but it was filling. Don't eat it all.

Mine was end of August with the discount. It was EXCEEDINGLY hot.

It is absolutely nothing like the regular safari.

I want to do this tour on my January trip, so I am hopeful they will announce times soon. Right now it only has available times through the end of December.
