My Daughter in law is thinking about doing this and I might do the toyr with her as well.

Couple of questions:

1) I am a 260 lb guy with most of my weight in my mid section, will the harness fit me?

2) Did you enjoy the tour and did you feel it was worth the 199 dollars?

3) Were the snacks good? They sound good, looking for feedback

4) Did you feel it was a good use of your park time (3 hours can be a bit of time out of your day at the park)?

Thanks for any info people can provided

We did the Wild African Trek and loved it. It was pre-Covid so I'm not sure what has changed, if anything. I think you should be fine with the harness but it might be worth a call to Disney. We found the food to be very good. We found it a great use of park time as we were on the first trek of the day. Plus, you will see things that you might not normally see. It was an experience that we still talk about and will probably do it again in the future. Hope you enjoy it!

I went at the beginning of May. There was a couple that checked in right after me and the woman was concerned about her size. They took her back first while other people were checking in. There’s a whole wall of harnesses in all different sizes. The harness whisperer sizes you up and picks one out to try.

Was it worth the cost? Worth is subjective. Do I pay extra to ride FOP? No. $600 a night to stay at a deluxe resort? No. For this tour, it’s a yes. I think Caring for Giants as a backstage tour is also worth it at a much cheaper price. But up close to the hippos, the crocs, the giraffes, and one really close encounter with a rhino, is worth the extra cost. The lunch was really good. They say the food is different all the time, so you won’t know until you get to the boma to eat. They’ll take as many photos of you as you want, which is also included in the price.

I had an 8:45am tour, and was still able to hit FOP, NRJ, and Everest before reporting to the tour at 8:30am. Done by 12:00pm, and could have done other things if I wanted to. I would also recommend the earliest tour for heat purposes. Though they also give you a water bottle and cooling towels.

I did this tour twice precovid and loved every minute of it. hopefully its still as good because I want to take my nephew whom has never been in August.
