Hi. We are considering buying a Wii for our son's 9th birthday. Besides the system, do we need anything else? We thought the games game with it? We figure we'll need one more controller. Thanks!

It comes with one remote and one nunchuck. You will want up to 3 additional remotes - if you can find them! You'll probably also want at least one additional nunchuck. You may want some classic controllers, too.

It comes with Wii Sports. Any additional games, you'll need to buy separately.

For starters you need a 1 Wiimote and 1 nunchuck and alot of "AA" Batteries.
I am consdering going out and getting a battery charger. I play Zelda and it eats batteries, that is for sure.

It comes with "Wii Sports"....I don't play that as I am not into sports, but it does look fun.

Super Smash Brothers Brawl will be the "HOT HOT HOT" game to buy when it hits the shelves....I am buying that one. I think it comes out soon.:thumbsup2
Best Buy lists it at 3-15-07 as the release date...however, I take everything with a grain of salt.

If you see extra remotes or nanchucks buy them it seems like those are pretty hard to find. We were lucky that they had nanchucks when we got the console but I was seeing remotes everywhere but didn't buy them. Took us a few days to find an extra remote. If you have a fry's electronics by you ours had quite a bit!

The classic controllers are pretty easy to find we picked two of those up as well. We also got the lithium batteries which are longer lasting then the standard but they are supposed to last longer we shall see!

In addition to the wii sports game that came with it we have zelda, warioware, rayman and super monkey ball but we bought them all seperate. We also downloaded some games from the virtual console. So much fun!

Good luck finding one!

Well...we went out today and couldn't find one. I'm assuming all of you are happy with your wii's? We did play one over Christmas and my DS loved it...we just hope it continues.

Thanks for your help!

If you are buying an extra controller, which you should, look for the one that comes bundled with the new Wii Play games- the Wii Play is free!

We have 4 controllers and two nanchucks. We can play 4 man tennis.

The wii's are still hard to find so I would suggest buying one whenever you see one instead of waiting. We bought one last week when Toys R Us had a bunch come in - I have heard people have also found them at Target. And buy the extra contollers and nanchucks as they are both very hard to find. Games are averaging $50/each. You can easily spend $400 - $500 just getting set up with the system and a couple of games and controllers.

It's a bit of $$$$, but the system is awesome! :thumbsup2
