Wii Motion Plus question - can it be used with existing contorller covers?

I've tried Googling this but no reviews say one way or the other - if you get a Wii Motion Plus attachment can you use it with an existing remote jacket cover or do you have to use the clear plastic thing that comes with the motion plus? We have covers we like now and would prefer not to get rid of them, but...

I'm pretty sure you need to use the jacket that comes with it (although I never thought to try otherwise). The motion sensor (booster) is contained in the jacket it comes with, plus the sensor extends the length of the Wiimote so your current jacket probably wouldn't fit.

It makes the remote an inch or so longer than it currently is. I know our current covers wouldn't work with it. It's possible that some are stretchy enough to work with it, but I suspect not.
