Wii- Fit

What is the deal with the yoga mat? Does it do anything special or is it just a mat?

From what I can tell, the $24.95 Wii Fit mat is just like any other yoga mat. I didn't buy the one made for the Fit and instead, went down to Marshall's and bought a really nice double-thick yoga mat for $10! :thumbsup2 It works great!

My friend called me yesterday and told me she and her dh both password protected their info. When he left the room, she tried 3 times to figure our his password and it asked her, "Are you really Jim?" :rotfl:

That's funny!!:rotfl2:

Thats a good ideal for the mat because I paid in Target $29.99..I haven't open mine so I will go and return it and get one cheaper..

The scale is pretty acurate. Has anyone noticed with the step game the system lagged. It didn't so much on me, but when my husband was playing it, the lag was distracting. We couldn't figure out if it was b/c of his weight difference or what.

You can password protect your info. The weight does not show as you are working out.

That's funny! I'm glad they password protect your personal info, I wouldn't want anyone else to see that. I pre-ordered mine on Amazon & it was shipped yesterday. Can't wait to try it! :cool1:

Can you use it on a carpeted surface, or does it have to be hard? I didn't even think about this when I bought it, but the Wii is in my boys carpeted bedroom. Sometimes a scale won't be accurate unless it's on a hard surface, plus is the unit steady on carpeting?

It came with something to put on the legs of the balance board for those who have carpeting. I didn't use them because I have a hard wood floor.

There are attachments for carpeted surfaces. We put it on as we have carpets and it worked fine. The scale is accurate although dh will tell you its not :rotfl:

We have carpeting in our bedroom that isn't very bushy. I was able to use the balance board without the extenders.

Tried out the Wii Fit last night..30 minutes banked....so far so good. Well except my Mii doesn't seem to like her new butt :lmao:
Also, apparently I have the fitness level of a 40 year old. TWELVE years older than what I really am. Wow, guess I need to quit :surfweb: & get :dancer:

Anybody set goals for themselves?? Wanna be Wii Fit buddies?

That's so funny. I felt the same way, when my Mii changed after I weighed myself. Didn't know if I should laugh or cry. I didn't do so bad with my Wii Fit Age which was 38. I'm 37, so only a year difference. I set a goal of 2 pounds in 2 weeks. I guess we'll see how I do. Especially since I'm leaving for WDW tomorrow night and won't have my Wii Fit with me. But hopefully walking around the parks will help.

available right now (1:01 pm CST) at Toys R Us.com Shipping was about $15

HTH!

gone again -- 1:05 pm CST

I set the same goal - 2 pounds in 2 weeks.

My Wii Age was 10 years older. But I think that is because I couldn't figure out at first how to do the test. It seemed backwards for what I was doing. For example, if you wanted your bar to go up on the right, I tried leaning to the right. But really you had to lean to the left. (maybe vice versa). But it seemed backwards to me. So my timing was worse than what I think it should be.

At least, that is my story and I'm sticking with it!!

I'm going to retest tonight and see.

I know, that screwed me up too. When I was done, it said something like "Do you trip a lot when you walk?". I was very offended by that comment. LOL!

So I started yesterday and I did not use the attachment since I have really low carpeting, and the manual said they were for thick carpeting. I thought the scale was a bit off last night, but I went with it and continued. I decided to do another body test today and it said I had lost over 6 pounds! I knew there was no way not even with water loss could it be that much that fast, so I put on the attachments. After doing the body test again, it was right where I had expected it to be yesterday. Unfortunately, it is showing a weight gain of about 6 pounds between day 1 and 2, but at least it seems right now. We will see tomorrow.

So, I guess what I am saying is that if you have carpet, even the short stuff, use the attachments....

I was also kinda miffed by the "do you trip comment!" I thought it was funny, playing at 1130 pm, it asked me if I had brushed my teeth for bed yet!!

but i do love it, despite fleshing out my mii character
