Either get used to it or just dont do the steps.
I honestly really dont know. It doesnt bother me, so I really cant help you with that. If you can, try getting a yoga mat. We just bought the wii fit starter kit and it comes with a yoga mat and a cover for the board. And it puts a little more cushion under your feet. What can I say working out is gonna hurt. After doing EVERYTHING in wii fit for 3 days straight when we first got wii fit, believe me, I was in PAIN. My entire right side was killing me. Everytime I breathed in, it felt like someone was stabbing me with a knife in my right side. And now that I've been doing it for about 2 weeks now, while I still do get pain in my sides, it less and less each day. You'll eventually get used to it. Your heel spurs are probably weak, so therefor it hurts and doing this will toughen them up. After awhile it will stop hurting. After all when you work out, your basically ripping your muscles and re-building them back up again.

ACK! Didn't see that. I was putting my shoes on to do the step aerobics. My heel spurs were KILLING me when I did it without shoes. Now what?
