Bored? I'm playing with the new video capabilities of Smugmug. I just uploaded a video of my youngest son (the kid in the green shirt) boxing some neighbor kids on the Wii.

You can see it in any of three resolutions:

Low Resolution
Medium Resolution
High Resolution

If you try it, let me know. I'd like to know how well it works. It worked OK for me in IE, but it crashed Opera.

I think it looks softer now that Smugmug has re-encoded it, but I haven't really gone back to compare it to the original.

Seems to work okay in medium def for me... Just six days until I...erm, I mean the kids... get their Wii :)

Not bored, but I do think watching the kids box on the Wii is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time (though my 5yo was briefly banned from the sport due to trying out her technique in real life on her sister). Unfortunately it crashed on me three times--twice in Firefox and once in IE. Quicktime was trying to upload an update, so that may have had something to do with it since it crashed both browsers. Don't have time to try anything else right now. :)

The video looked fine for me in all resolutions. Thanks for posting as it reminded me about SmugMug's new video upload feature. I need to get the video I have of my youngest (DS6) playing tennis on the Wii. That is some funny stuff indeed!

Mark,

I only watched the medium res one in IE, but it worked just fine. No problems at all. Does that little boy ever stop moving his feet? :rotfl2:
