Sailing the Wetsern Caribean on the Fantasy in a month and looking for (semi) recent experiences with WIFI in the different ports: both good and bad.
I'm def willing to go for a drink or snack to have decent WIFI in return but I hate paying 10 dollars for a drink to only find out their WIFI is slower than the dial in internet I had in the 90s...
So please share your experiences...

Also I havent sailed out of PC in a while so wondering whether Disney transportation has WIFI and/or the Disney cruise terminal in PC.

I know I sound like an internet addict but I'm travelling half the world by myself before even going on the cruise and by myself for 3 weeks so I have a worrying mom at home that likes me to touch base regularly... so just trying to set expectations straight (and not spending 100 dollars on ship wifi since I don't have US data)

Another alternative if you cruise or travel often is a relatively new device called SkyRoam, it's a mobile WiFi hotspot that works in over 140 countries on their cellular data systems in each country, once you arrive in port you activate your device and enable a Day Pass (bought in bundles of 5 day passes for $40 so it's like $8 a day) and it will give you unlimited cellular based data for 24hrs including some chat and voice apps like iTalk etc. You can get the device from the companies website or on Amazon $99 one time fee, it has a rechargable battery, fits in your pocket so if you go ashore you can take it with you and still get data access on your mobile devices, laptop and tablets. We used on on the our Westbound Panama Canal trip this year and it worked in every port we visited with no problem. It's a great alternative than searching out coffee shop or shopping centers that might offer free WiFi.

We had great WiFi at Palmeras restaurant in Cozumel last week on the 09/16 Fantasy sailing. It came recommended by one of the Crew on the ship, right below the giant flag. Open air restaurant with cold beer and good food, but no AC, just some ceiling fans to help circulate the breeze.

We sailed the western Caribbean in December. Traveling with a 16 year old, an 8 year old that loves her Pokemon Go, and a husband addicted to work, we found WiFi.
On Grand cayman, there were a few stores where we picked up a signal. It was strong enough to play Pokemon Go. Lol. Husband was able to check emails and send a few texts. Not sure of the store but it was a big t shirt store on the main road outside the port.
In Jamaica we used the pool at Margaritaville in port. We paid for 2 drinks and had the WiFi. Strong enough WiFi so teen could text, Instagram and Snapchat. Husband again used his emails.
Me? I had a nice Margarita and relaxed by the pool listening to Jimmy Buffet
