there are certain times during someone's vacation where they might NEED it.
For instance, this Thursday, something REALLY important to me is happening while I'm on the DCL where I MUST have wifi to view it. I'm even considering paying the ridiculous amount for the slow wifi that is available.
That's pretty common for theme parks around here. No WiFi and often very weak cell phone coverage. I suspect they don't want phones ringing and interrupting the place.
If you have a smartphone, you may want to check with your wireless carrier about "tethering" options - hooking up your device to the Internet piggybacking on your phone's data plan via USB or Bluetooth. You can often add the plan as needed (such as the month you're in WDW) and remove it later. I'm in agreement with previous statements in this thread, though, the data will probably be spotty, slow, or both.
No wifi to speak of in the parks. If you must have wifi you'd need to go to a resort. At the Beach Club I couldn't access wifi in the lobby, just the room. Sorry about the app, but you're going to need 3G service to use it in the park.
