Wife's 60th wants to go on Disney cruise sept/oct 25'. Need help.

Spa.

Magic: all aspects are interior to the ship.

Wish: there is an outdoor area for those with Rainforest Room pass (any ship, it is usually a length of cruise purchase)

Wish outdoor area. Sort of a private deck area with hot tubs limited to spa guests. That seems a plus.

Wish “rainforest room”. I see a shower that is just wide open exposure to your fellow guests.

Auntlynne you are good at this!!!!😂 it seems the Wish is the right ship with the right dates...
I was asking about a travel agent because the amount of things I don't know is huge!!!!
I'll take the advice and not fly in on cruise day.
I took notes on a lot of other things from all the other wonderful posters!!!!
Who has experience going from a resort to cruise and then back to resort? We may do a couple days at BCV then 4 night cruise then another 5 days at BCV before heading home.
The Halloween cruise sounds fun too!
How do you guys decide what deck( I read the post on ship rocking and seasick! Thank you BTW) and room ya select?
Thank you all for taking the time on this thread!!!!!

Part of the deck decision is contingent upon cabin type chosen.

The most stable location (with regard to rocking/ seasickness) is Midship and somewhat low. You can somewhat tell what would be “best” by looking at price. That said, the most expensive Concierge Level cabins are forward and high. I consider this to go with the concept that a big, heavy ship is not doing a lot of bobbing.

I follow the rule of surround yourself with cabins. Above, Below, Beside, and Across from your cabin.

So don’t put yourself right over the theater, for example. If there is a blank or gray space on the deck plan, that is typically a crew work area. Often with doors that get used frequently. And often slammed.

If you find a cabin that is not connecting, this helps reduce sounds from next door.

Verandahs are appealing for those who need or think they need access to fresh air. (Not snark). And for those who get out there and enjoy a private outdoor space. You may find out it is too hot and humid many months of the year to appreciate that experience.

It is not uncommon to bring champagne onboard. Order the cheese plate from room service (included in fare) and enjoy Sail Away in peace.

An oceanview can be enough, by having sunlight. It is the same size and layout as the verandah cabin, in most cases (There are a limited number of unique configuration cabins on all the ships).

Those in the know pick their Wish cabin by the artwork over the bed. Others research where their Muster (Safety)/Drill location is. You can be like me, and just take what you get in these aspects.

Elevator banks are not normally noisy. I don’t avoid them. And being near the elevators and stairs can make moving around the ship a little easier.

I took my first DCL cruise after booking it 3 weeks in advance. Knew nothing, hadn’t heard of a cruise forum. Had a great time. Looking back, I don’t think my trip enjoyment was much different from those I take today.

The product seems designed to deliver a similar, easy to do, experience for the majority of guests.

So ask away, we’ll share our ideas and opinions. But know you can have a great time just by stepping onboard and having the Disney Cruise experience.

And you can tweak it on your subsequent cruises. Or decide you never want to do it again.

We’ve stayed at WDW before and after cruises. You can use private auto (or rental car), a ride service like Mears, or the Disney buses. The downside to the Disney buses is you have less control on when you leave. So if you want to do a nice breakfast before heading to your cruise drive or use a ride service.

We usually sta in the middle of the boat on deck 7 and try to get a room across the hall from other rooms (not a service area). However, we’re trying out a Navigators veranda on the Magic for our next cruise just to do something different. Disney cruise ships don’t move a lot, especially if you have calm seas in the Caribbean. I always bring some Dramamine just in case. I have had the most problems with movement when lower on the ship in the dining rooms for some reason.

Dining and seasickness - often, they kick on the engines to get to the next port. Right after the stage show gets to a certain part. Then you start bobbing. Particularly bad when crossing the a strait of Florida between FL & Bahamas.

I know the feeling!
