Hey everyone, My wife and I are taking our son who will be 4 years old to WDW in February 2018. My question is: There will be a lot of rides that my son and I will be able to go on but my wife won't be able to due to her back issues, would she be able to wait in line with us and just walk through and wait on us to ride? She obviously doesn't want to just sit some where and wait on us and besides I hear a lot of the ques have things to interact with in them. Thanks in advance.

Yes. Basically every ride has a "chicken" exit. When you get to the loading cast member and they ask you how many say something like "2 to ride and 1 to exit" and they will direct your wife where to go.

Can u do this with tower of terror and none of you ride? I'd love to see the waiting area but loath any stomach drop sensations (yes I know, that's the fun part!).

TIA

Yes, you can do that with every ride at WDW. One thing to keep in mind, though: your son will not be allowed in the queue for a ride if he's not tall enough to ride.

yes there is a chicken exit at Tower but be prepared that it is an elevator with a in character CM

That shouldn't be an issue as long as it doesn't drop as quickly as the other one! My daughter will be 8 so should also be tall enough to walk round. She might want to go on with her Daddy but probably not so having the opportunity to bale out is good to know. Thanks

I'm so glad for this post as a reminder. I am recovering from a discectomy right now so during our Thanksgiving trip I will be 10 weeks post surgery, and hadn't even thought of queuing with the family for some of the more fun ones and then exiting. Is the chicken exit always at the very end, at the loading area?

So I knew there were "chicken" exits, but it never occurred to me that a family could do the queue together knowing someone in the group would not be able to ride, then just use that to leave without riding. I mean, duh, but somehow I never thought of that.

I have a family member with a medical issue that does not allow her to go on any of the "big" rides, she walks through and at the end a CM directs her to an exit. Many of the rides have a gift shop by the exit and that's where we usually meet up.
