Couldn't you just borrow if your points aren't available when you need them? Or is it an accounting nightmare?

If I decide to add on later at the same resort and purchase a resale should I avoid buying if it has a different UY?

My home will be BCV

Thanks

My view is that use years are important if you have regular vacation patterns and may need to cancel. Then you want to be in the first six months of your contract so you can bank 100% of your points. Otherwise it is unimportant.

Borrowing and banking is easy and really no hassles. The MS CMs explain it well.

We have different use years and keeping track of them is easy with the program we use.

I think the biggest problem with different use years is the personal book keeping. If I had three or four different use years, I would drive myself crazy with banking deadlines, and all that stuff.
Some members are better at the book keeping than I (see JimC's post above).

PS- DVC will not sell you an add-on contract that is different than your current use year.

Good luck....
