I am not even sure how to word this......I just came back from one WDW trip and am headed back down 12-19 for an 11 night Poly stay over Christmas....I have had multiple, horrible problems with these two trips (overbilling, someone / somehow internally at WDW moving me from club level and then downgrading and then doing it all over again, etc.).

So, I am trying to double check things for this Dec trip and now I have two different reservation numbers for this trip and am curious why that would be or is that a big red flag that once again something is wrong?

Would hate to have a problem at check in after spending this much money for an 11 night Christmas vacation for 4.

Any thoughts?

My other 'planned' trips - April 2008 and November 2008 seem to be fine.

I have 2 different reservation numbers for my stay in Jan 2008. This is because the Visa code wasn't available for all of the dates of my stay, so I took the days that I could with the code (but I purchase a longer MYW with free upgrade ticket for all the days of my stay) and have a room-only reservation for the other days.

I don't think that is it, I have no codes / promotions with this trip at all, it is just a regular full priced trip

My only thought is to contact WDW and ask them what's up. Then you won't be surprised come time to check-in. Anything posted by others here seems like it would just be speculation.

I have asked and got no answer quite honestly, was told "I don't know." I saw on another thread people talking about 'complaining' being out of the norm....I guess I expect a little more in terms of communication and consistency than what this and the last trip have provided. These are not cheap trips so I am just confused / concerned. My biggest issue is we live in PA so traveling down to WDW involves flying, therefore, if something is screwed up we are stuck.

I really don't know why you would have two different reservation numbers for this but does your trip overlap the different resort seasons? So you would be paying one rate for some of the trip and another rate for the rest of the trip?

On our last trip, if I looked up the information online, I could see two different confirmation numbers for the trip. One was the 'real' number and the other was the original number that existed when I first made the reservation. But since I made a change after the original call, they created a new confirmation number and left the old one hanging. At times I was confused, because the old one showed me owing a lot more money than I owed, but that was because they were not updating it. When we got the ME luggage tags, we even got two sets because of the two numbers. But when I went to check in, the money was right, the room was right and we had no problems. I also called and got the 'we don't know why there are 2' answer from the CM's. I eventually stopped worrying.

I asked for a quote from a travel agent, to see if there was a big price difference, there was not, and they held a room for 10 days, i booked myself and for a while there were 2 reservations under my name.

Not sure this could help, but are you seeing the two reservations numbers on the Disney site when you log on and pull up your ressie?
I show two similar, not the same just similar, numbers on mine and when I scroll down further the second reservation number is my ME ressie number.
It shows my flights and dates of travel and shows "null " under deposit/balance.

Not sure if this is what your issue is....just thought I would throw it out there:confused3

Have a great trip, wow 11 nights at Christmas at the Poly, how perfect:wizard:

I would strongly suggest that since you are SO concerned, you contact the WDW reservations dept and politely request for a supervisor to review your reservations and explain why there are two numbers.

They should check each one individually and confirm that maybe one is 'out-of-date' or no longer valid etc.

The only people who can answer this - are Disney. We can all conjecture but only the Disney Reservations folks know for absolute certainty what your situation is.

Thanks,

Knox

This could be way off base, but since you're flying..... possibly the 2nd reservation # is your DME reservation. :confused3

Being that you had problems.....I would like someone suggested...
politely ask for a supervisor and explain your situation....

then I would do it again 3 days before checkin....betta safe than sorry.
good luck

Hi! Definitely call WDW about this. I had a similar experience when I booked on line. I was "kicked off" the system shortly after typing in my credit card number and accepting the terms, etc. I assumed it did not go through (I could find no evidence in the system the next day, etc.) Instead of proactively calling, I just redid the reservation online and didn't think anything of it. I made another payment online right away so when I got two separate confirmations in the mail I assumed that one contained the receipt for my last payment. Six months later, I was going through paperwork and noticed two different confirmations with two different reservation numbers. Now, obviously this situation was my fault, and WDW handled it easily enough. The reservation that I had been steadily paying on was kept intact, and WDW cancelled the duplicate. I originally was charged the $200 deposit on the duplicate ressie (how did I miss that on my statement?:confused3), but WDW reimbursed me with no problem. All my ADRs remained intact (although I did check on them obsessively over the next few weeks.) So, call and hopefully WDW will fix it as easily as they did mine (and mine was really and truly my fault  )

this happened on our last trip as well....not sure why.....and while we were there we actually had to get a new set of room keys when the second ressie started. We were told this when we checked in, so we knew when new tics/room keys were needed. We did not have to change rooms which was a huge plus since we had been upgraded to a POLY club level lagoon view! I would call, they usually know what's going on

I also have 2 reservation numbers for my trip. That's because the same room wasn't available all 6 nights, so for the 1st night I'll be in a different room, but I don't mind.

I kind of hesitated about responding to this, but the tone of your reply (and being a moderator) has kind of turned me off to asking questions here. No offense, but when I pay for a trip that is the equivalent of buying a new (albeit, small) car.... yeah, I am concerned. And yes, I did 'politely' inquire multiple times to no avail.

The other update is I have found a travel agent, actually via the DIS boards, and she has been able to jump in and help....and I think she agrees that I am not nuts....nor am I SO concerned over nothing....there truly have been tons of problems and I am hoping she has helped resolve some. As for the reasons behind what has happened, why there were two numbers, etc....well, that all remains somewhat of a mystery.

Just hoping that our 12 days at the Poly for Christmas work out.

I'm staying at CSR, I had started with room only at POP, when I changed from room only POP to discount package CSR I got a new number, but there is still stuff that was attached to the original. Everything I've gotten has CSR and the proper dates, so I'm good with that.

This happened to me as well. When we booked our rooms first, then applied packages to them, we had a reservation number for "just the room" reservation, then we got another reservation number for the rooms and the tickets, dining, etc.

As for you being downgraded, etc.. I would try to get that all worked out before you go. Also, I was a manager in a call center at one point in my life.
"I don't know" is not an acceptable answer. Ask for a supervisor or manager.
Once they have sorted it all out for you, get their full name so you have something to reference in case problems arise.

Just my two cents.
