Looks killed already. And isn’t this probably going to end up killing the poor tree?
I don't find it odd that someone would look upon that and think thoughts on it. I however do find it odd that people feel the need to create little groups to tell others what they can or can not do with their own property. Why does this need nipped in the bud if it's not your tree? I know the answer to that to which I say, I don't care, it's not your tree and not your property.Hope you live in a neighborhood with an HOA! I know lots of people hate them, but they would nip this in the bud!
I see what you did there.Hope you live in a neighborhood with an HOA! I know lots of people hate them, but they would nip this in the bud!
I thought so too Dan. Maybe it was dead and they think the paint improves it?Looks killed already.
You can paint tree trunks to strengthen them over winter and also to protect against pests. It just has to be latex, not acrylic or oil. It's done in various parts of the world and does not kill the tree. And isn’t this probably going to end up killing the poor tree?
Someone in my neighborhood spent weeks painting his tree and we watched in dismay as it became more and more of an eyesore. And isn’t this probably going to end up killing the poor tree?

Yikes. Why does my opinion bother you so much? Everyone is free to chose where they live. I personally like living in a neighborhood with a strong HOA. After living in one without an HOA, I am grateful that there are rules to keep our property values high. Homes in our neighborhood generally sell within a day of listing, so having an HOA isn’t running people off.I don't find it odd that someone would look upon that and think thoughts on it. Quite possible that this is a work in progress.Honestly, I don't nwcwssarily hate the concept, but the execution though doesn't look so hot, at least in that picture. I would say if you are going to do something like this, you have to make it really good.
Bite your tongue!Hope you live in a neighborhood with an HOA! I know lots of people hate them, but they would nip this in the bud!
