Due date was yesterday. Went in for appt. this morning and set up to be induced on Oct. 31st! If baby doesn't come by then. I'm ok with the baby naturally coming on that day, but would you intentionally schedule a Halloween baby?

If Oct. 31 was the day that was most convienient for me and my doctor, I sure would!! :thumbsup2

They probably didn't give her much choice of dates. It's all about when the doctors and hospital can do it.

It certainly wouldn't bother me to have a Halloween baby, though. Whats the problem with it? :confused3

Probably because at this point all she wants is the baby out of her and if that falls on any holiday she wouldn't care.

Why don't you like a Halloween birthday? I just don't see the issue? :confused3

Did you have an option? Just think of the cool birthday parties you can have for her when she gets older. She can wear a button when she trick or treats "treat me twice, it's my birthday!"

Hopefully she will make an appearance on her own before then.

I have a friend who just had a baby on 9/11/06. I think she is a little bothered that he showed up on that date, but hey, now they can associate something good with that date.

My friend had to schedule both of her deliveries. The OB only scheduled in advance for Tuesdays. Maybe you daughter's doctor is the same way and she had no choice in the matter.

why not ?? I know several people with that birthdate ... and they actually have so much fun with it.

When they set up the time to induce labor with my DD, they didn't ask my opinion. If they had, I would have suggested the day before (which was her dad's birthday).

My brother's DD was born on Halloween (not induced), and his birthday is on Christmas Day! :cool1:

At that point of pregnancy, I would've jumped at the chance to be induced, date be darned. :rotfl: :rotfl:

I don't think it would be a big deal. It's not like it'll be born with horns or anything. :confused3

As a near Halloween baby myself (Nov. 2), I don't see the problem. I LOVE having a "Halloween" birthday! It's great as a kid, candy and toys all at once, what's not to love! :thumbsup2

It wouldn' bother me at all.
Ds was born 10/30 via induction, so he could have been a halloween baby.
I just wanted him OUT!

I'm due in 11 days and if my doctor told me I could have this baby on Tuesday 10/31 I'd be all over it! I'm soooo done, I don't care what the date is!

It's probably the doctor's call when the inducement happens, not your daughter's.

My daughter's boyfriend's birthday is on Halloween. He told me that it always made for WONDERFUL birthday parties as a kid!!

that would be cool to have a birthday on Halloween...will make for some killer parties :smokin:

Well, doctors don't like to wait more than a week past the due date nowadays. I know my doctor only likes to do inductions one or two days a week, so she might have been stuck with Tuesday.

Being a women who was overdue as well, I am sure she just scheduled the first available time she could deliver the baby. I dont see a big deal with it either.

I was not given an option with dd when my labor was to be induced. I went in for my appointment on my due date, the dr told me when to go to the hospital if I had not gone into labor by a specific date and time.

Have you asked your daughter if she picked that date or if her doctor did? Also, just because she is going into the hospital on that date doesn't mean that the baby will be born that day. I went in on a Monday night and dd wasn't born until Tuesday night.
