There was a mail slip in my mailbox today ....they tried to deliver a certified letter from DVC. :confused3 Anyone know why theywould send something out certified? We have been dvc members since 2007 and I don't recall getting anything via certified mail.

Thanks...

My thoughts would turn in the direction of areas like:

  • Do you rent
  • Do you pay the dues monthly and possibly had changes there
  • Did you pay dues by gift cards or CC where an issue could have occurred
  • Do you have any new contracts in the works.
  • Did you participate in any programs where a print is possibly coming.
  • Any name changes on your account.

I remember once something completely silly that they sent certified - like a lithograph or something.

You'll have to let us know!

I did a google search "certified letter from disney" and the two people from years ago who rec'd them won lanyard and pins. Hopefully, that is the case here? Good luck!

Maybe you won a cruise!!!!!

.....Pin set......

Have you received a referral incentive? I believe our was sent certified mail.

I wondered if it really was from DVC, or from someone who wanted to sell OP something and worded the language on the envelope to make it sound like DVC.

It was NOTHING....DUMB DUMB DUMB. It was a glitch in the computer system with our dues from LAST YEAR!!! YES YOU READ THAT...LAST YEAR. IT said that we owed a montly dues payment from Jan. 15th of 2013. :confused3:confused3:confused3 IF that was the case...wouldn't that have been figured out in Dec. when the last one of the year comes out???? So I checked back in my Quicken...NOPE ...it was in there and of course LONG reconciled. :confused3:confused3:confused3 Checked bank statement to double check.... the payment was taken out. I then called...and she looked it up and said everything was fine. She said the only thing she could figure out was that last year the JAN. payment was debited by phone TRUE..... because I had paid them off the previous year all in one lump sum. So I called to set up the monthly payments and the auto debit started in Feb. on the 1st because it was too close to the 15th for it to start then and the computer THOUGHT we didn't have an auto debit on Jan. 15th. :confused3 That is all she could figure out. HOWEVER....why not send that regular mail???? Why not call??? It was just a computer glitch or an oversight and she apologized. :rolleyes1

SO NO I DIDN'T WIN ANYTHING..... :sad2: This was the weirdest thing ever in my opinion. :scratchin

SO NO pixiedust: for me. :(

GREAT! So I have to wait a whole year to ensure my payments went through.

:thumbsup2 LOL Well we have been members since 2007 and this is a FIRST. So not too bad a track record. :) It was just weird that they sent me a certified letter and it was for nothing.

Thanks for the update Denise - you had all of us wondering :rolleyes2.

You should send a letter to MS accounting confirming the converstation you had showing that there is really nothing wrong and asking them to confirm in writing that a proper correction has been made. Unfortunately, computers, once they have wrong information, sometimes decide to continue to act on the wrong information despite your being told orally otherwise -- caused usually because the precise type of correction required in the system is not properly made. What you want is something in writing that you can use to later prove what happened if the computer decides in the future to cancel your ability to reserve rooms for failure to pay dues owed.

Yep, get confirmation in writing. Certified letters are used to prove that you received the item sent and often precede next steps if a co. is attempting to collect a debt it believes is owed. Hopefully the phone call cleared up the glitch, but I'd want confirmation in writing.

Oh there is proof the dues payment was paid last year on time....on my end and also in the computer system with Member Services. I guess I can call tomorrow to have them send me something too.
