Why would anyone want an iPad over a laptop?

Tell this to the school I work at, which announced last week it will be replacing all staff laptops with a brand new iPad next year! Most of the staff is giddy (needless to say). Some like myself are extremely disappointed.

From what I understand, the iPad doesn't support Flash. A lot of educational programs require the Flash plugin. I think I read somewhere that over 70% of all websites use Flash in some form or another...including Disney. I'm curious to see how this will play out in the long run.

I can't imagine how an ipad could ever replace a laptop.
