OK THEY WEREN'T CANCELLED...THEY WERE POSTPONED ALONG WITH THE REST OF THE BSB TOUR DATES UNTIL SEPTEMBER BECAUSE AJ HAS CHECKED HIMSELF INTO REHAB FOR ALCOHOLISM AND DEPRESSION.

I HEARD THIS INFO ON TRL DIRECTLY FROM THE BSB IN MTV'S NEW YORK STUDIO.

but this sounds prety serious... i feel really bad...

yeah..it is sad...I hope he gets better soon..I also heard it on TRl today.

I heard this too... I'm not a big fan of BSB, but still found this SO sad.... I mean, even the audience was crying along with Kevin! Everyone- send ~*~Pixie Dust~*~ A.J.'s way!

Yea, I'm not a big fan of the BSB's music, but that news is so sad. I know people who suffer from depression....it's not fun....hopefully his time in rehab will help him

I was going to go to their concert next Monday, but my sister heard on the radio and my grandmother heard on the news that it was postponed. I feel so bad for AJ and I hope he gets better soon!:(

I heard that the shows were postponed because at a previous show Nick burnt himself on some of the pyrotecnics, so he is hurting from that. You should keep your tickets though because they will be announcing other dates to make up for these canceled shows. I heard this info off of a radio station that was offering tickets to the show. Hope it helps! And if the news about AJ is true I hope he gets better!!! :(

I had heard that after their last tour A.J. was suffering from depression but that he got help. Hopefully the rehab will help this time.

<font color=blueviolet size=4>Yeah, I just saw the same thing on the morning news, & they showed the thing on TRL. Nick was crying :( I'm not a big fan of the BSB either, but that's really sad! :( Poor AJ!

:( I JUST found this little news article, and I think it might be the answer you're looking for, just not the way you want it probably. I only copied the first part of it, but I think it's enough.:(

 :( LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Teen heartthrob AJ McLean, a member of pop phenomenon the Backstreet Boys, is being treated for depression, forcing the group to postpone a series of concert dates, his publicist says.

Now, I have to admit, I'm not exactly a big fan of BSB, let alone any kind of fan, But I do like the guys, themselves. Except for Nick, I've never really liked him. But A.J. is my fav, so I'm kind of upset about this. Well, anyway, I hope that answers your question. Sorry about the sad news.:(

I know people who suffer from depression, and I do too. Now I've been dealing with it since 1st grade, and I'm going into 9th. Although, I'm doing really well when it comes to controlling it. I also have ADHD, actually ADD which stands for Attention Deficite Disorder, but I'm a really fast learner. I'm almost always at the head of the class, and I'm in all level 3 Major course classes, except for math, where I'm going into algebra 1. My main problem with things is time management. But my dad has found that it's not because I don't understand the information, but because I understand it too fast, and end up understanding more than I'm supposed to, or what they expect me too. But, when you hear about someone that people look up to, who's somebodies hero, ends up having to deal with depression is just a sad story, no quaestions asked.

One of my best friends has depression, but she doesn't act it she is such a good friend, It was hard for me to comprehend when she told me that she had depression
thanks again sami

Here's a little more detailed info from the bsb website for anyone who wants it...

Backstreet Boys Postpone Summer Concert Dates

The Backstreet Boys have been forced to postpone a series of concert dates starting with their Monday, July 9 show at the Fleet Center in Boston, MA.
This announcement comes as the group reveals that member AJ McLean will immediately undergo a 30-day treatment for his clinical depression which has recently led to anxiety attackes and the excessive consumption of alcohol. A key factor causing this depression is the recent death of McLean's grandmother, with whom he was very close.

In a joint statement, Backstreet Boys Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson said: "It's been suggested that we not be so forthcoming about this situation, as many artists in the industry have in the past, but we feel compelled as a group to be honest with our fans and not let them down. AJ is our firend and our brother and we whole-heartedly support him during this difficult time. Fortunately, AJ has realized he can't solve his problems by himself."

"Because he is unable to be on tour at this time, we are postponing dates and will make them up as soon as we can," the group added. "At the same time we trust that our fans--who've always stood by us--will understand this decision is absolutely necessary in order for AJ to be well. We look forward to seeing all of you on the road soon."

Tickets already purchased for the upcoming postponed shows will be honored for the rescheduled dates. Refunds for any of the concerts will also be made available.
