Why was Breakfast at Cindy's so easy?

Another change for all ADRs as of February 1, they no longer accept the DDE card so no 20% discount

Just hung up with DDE people to order our card and specifically asked about dinner with cindy at the castle and lunch with the princesses in Norway and the discount DOES apply. Had her double check.

The card was $60. Takes 3-4 weeks to get it, so they will issue a temp card that you pick up at Epcot Guest Relations if you need it sooner, which we do.. Works out well because we can exchange fo our AP there as well :hyper:

As with any new changes or new policies, there's always mixed and misinformation that goes around the boards. We'll know for sure February 1 once people start reporting back.

I only posted what was part of the announcement of all the changes to CRT starting February 1.

I have DDE so that would be good news but time will tell.

Yes, that would be good news if CRT still accepts DDE, but I also read that they wouldnt accept it after 2/1.

CRT is not on our list because of all the new changes, but I may add it if they accept the DDE.

Im just thankful we were able to go before all the changes and price increase.

I'm also thankful that we got to go for what looks like might be the last time last week. We've always enjoyed having dinner there, the prime rib is great and nothing beats eating in the castle. However with the price increase and them turning it into a character meal with a fixed price menu, I doubt we'll be back. :(

Ok- I understand we won't really know 'till Feb 1st- but how will they (potentially) lett you use the DDE if the meals are prepaid? My ADR's are for mid March and the charge for the 5 of us has already been charged to my credit card (ouch!) If they are accepting the DDE- what will they do? give you a 20% reimbursement?!

:confused3

VERY good point! I still believe they won't be accepting it February 1 regarless of what DDE is saying on the phone. Thanks for reminding me that everyone is pre-paying the FULL price unless they are on the dining plan.

OK, called again to clarify about prepaid with discount and they immeadiately credited my CC with $20 and some change. It was so easy! :cool1:
Since I had already paid for DDE this morning, I just had to give them the reservation #. Lovin this DDE

Wow, that's great news. Congrats! That makes up for some of the price increase.

OHMIGOSH! Disney actually creditted me too! Thanks for the heads up!
:earsboy:

I was sad to see the info about the price increase. That is just way too much for breakfast in my opinion. We have been to Cindi's breakfast 3 times and loved the experience. We would not want the photos as we have wonderful photos we took. My husband and I just discussed that we will not be going to again to CRT. We love Crystal Palace and now it is almost half the cost. This new pricing just seems to put it far out of reach for many families. For many it is hard enough just to get to go to Disney and a stretch for a normally priced character meal.

Hmmm...when I called and prepaid, they told me they would accept the DDE card, but then the CM put me on hold to check with someone. She told me they would credit me the 20% the day of the meal. Sounded kind of funny to me, but hey, what do I know. Now, however, I'll be calling back tomorrow and hopefully get a different CM who will credit the discount now. If not, that's ok too.

When we went to CRT in December, Cinderella was downstairs. We had to wait in line to take a picture with her. It was a long line. I really did not want to do that, but that was the only way DD's were going to see CIndy. The fairy godmother was upstairs.

They took our picture and came around later for us to purchase like they do at Donalds & Chef MIckeys.

when we were there in dec we also had to wait in a ridiculus line... also if they called your name before you had finished the line with Cindy for your adr then they told you , you could only come upstairs once the picture was taken. At that point with three kids we didnt want to take the pic and they said we had to. I know that things can very with cm's but we were soooooo mad!
