Why was Breakfast at Cindy's so easy?

I've tried for about 5 or 6 years to get breakfast of Cindy's on the 90th day as soon as they opened but have always been unsuccessful. This year, I called much closer than 120 days out and was able to choose multiple times and/or days. Why is this? Is it because there's now a character dinner there as well? Or is it that you have to pay in advance? I'm so curious. I made ressies for my son's first birthday so I'm VERY excited to be doing breakfast with Cindy for the first time. THANKS!

IMHO, it's a few reasons.

It's the price increase ($10 more per person for breakfast for example).
It's that it's 2 TS credits now.
It's that you must pay in full in advance with only a CC (no other payment options).
And I also think it's because many may not know you can book so early now.

I know reasons one and two are why we won't be eating there ever again.

I thought you could only book 90 days out. Did this change? Is it now 120 days out?

You can now book 180 days in advance. I agree that the price increase and the CC in full along with the 2 TS is having an impact. We have done CRT before and thoroughly enjoyed it. I even had it booked for our upcoming trip until I saw about the price increase, etc. For me the big factor was that Cindy is no longer coming to the tables. When she walked across the restaurant straight to my 3 year old DS's chair, that was the most magical moment for me. It's a shame that won't happen again. Because of this, I cancelled our ADR, and made an ADR for 1900 Park Faire and also for PSB.

I just made reservations for this, and they did not ask for a credit card. I am on the dining plan, and I even asked if I needed to give my cc number to hold it and she said no. My daughters are 21 and 16, so I have no idea why they want to go to this so badly, but they do!

I'm not sure the exact reason why it was easier for you, though I did want to echo the comment about Cindy not coming to tables. We went in Oct. '04, and the whole experience was so magical. This time I found it frustrating to wait in line to see Cinderella. One of the reasons we chose to do character meals was to avoid waiting in line to see them. There was also one less princess upstairs than last time for us, so we had a little less interaction. With the increase in price and Cinderella not coming to the table, I'm pretty sure that I would not do this breakfast again. We're planning to wait about 2 years or so before returning, so we'll se what my dd thinks at that point.

Congrats to you though! There is still something so wonderful about eating in the castle. And I really do enjoy the food.

...too bad. I wouldn't have known any better. I have the Disney Dining Experience card, so I luckily save 20%. Also, I assumed the price increase had something to do with the photos they take. Does anyone have a photo posted that I could see to get an idea of what they look like? Sorry to hear that people have been disappointed. I'll have to report back. Thanks!

Yeah, the price increase, 180 days out for ressies that not everybody knows about, the two TS credit for dining plan folk, all that stuff adds up to make it easier.

We have booked CRT and then have heard that the other princesses will no longer be at CRT- just Cinderella. We'll still do CRT, but have also book PSB too...so we can see everyone!

Also, is it true that if you booked the ressie before the change in price that the old price still applies to that reservation?

YUK!! I didn't know this. :scared: How does it work now? I knew you got a picture at the beginning of meal, but I assumed all else was same as before. Are there no other princesses now?

I knew about price increase and was willing to live with it b/c this is DD's first trip to WDW and I wanted her to have this experience of being up and close w/Cindy.

We just got back from DL and she absolutely ate up the princess meals, but she refused to stand in line to see a character.

I may cancel our ADRs  I don't want to pay the bucks just to stand in line. We can do that at toontown. I may switch to the other princess meal.

Nope, not true. As of February 1st, everyone pays the new price. The reason for the previous poster not being asked for a CC # may be that she is on the dining plan. Not really sure on that one.

Cinderella is downstairs. When you come in, you wait to get your picture taken with her. When we went, the picture was an extra fee, but the price of the meal had not increased yet. Upstairs, there were still other princesses. We had Belle, Snow White, Aurora, and the Fairy Godmother. We had ADR's at 10:20, and I think we waiting in line for like 20 minutes or maybe a little more. In part, I think the late time was part of our downfall because the princesses seemed to be in a hurry to take a break before the lunch crowd. Perhaps, you'd have better luck at an earlier time.

Should be interesting to see how it all works out with the changes, definitely disappointing to hear that only Cindy will be there. I think that they really want it to be about the CASTLE experience which is why we are forking out the money to go.

Does anyone know where you can go meet Princesses at other then another meal? I know where Ariel is in MK but any others?

Another change for all ADRs as of February 1, they no longer accept the DDE card so no 20% discount.
From what I'm reading, the breakfast and lunch will stay the same but that dinner will have Cinderella downstairs (so for all three meals) and the Fairy Godmother upstairs but we won't know for sure till people start reporting back after February 1.

Kim, Toontown in the tent area. You can meet princesses there and other characters too. There are 3 different que lines. They have the characters listed at the front of the lines so you can see who is there. When we went in Sept. We were surprised with Mary Poppins at the exit. It was great....

Mulan is in Epcot.

When you go in each day to the parks there will be a listing of characters etc times and where to meet. :sunny:

That is what I keep saying...we really have to wait until after February 1st to see how it is all going to work out...no one really knows what is going to happen, how the picture package is going to work and whatnot.

We were told differently by the DDE people when we asked about this specifically just a couple days ago. Restaurant changes are only made once a calendar year, the woman said, so if CRT is on the list for 2006, it will stay on the list for 2006 unless something really major happens.

As with anything, it always is best to confirm with them if there's any questions about anything though.

Yep, time will tell. We'll know for sure soon enough. I was only posting what was announced when the CRT changes were announced. Everything is speculation until February 1.

When we went to CRT in December, Cinderella was downstairs. We had to wait in line to take a picture with her. It was a long line. I really did not want to do that, but that was the only way DD's were going to see CIndy. The fairy godmother was upstairs.

They took our picture and came around later for us to purchase like they do at Donalds & Chef MIckeys.

Yes, I know she's downstairs....for all three meals. We ate there November 27 breakfast and November 29 dinner; I bought the photo package for the breakfast. Luckily I didn't have a long line either time I ate there.

Supposidly, the Fairy God Mother will be there for dinner starting February 1 to announce birthdays and other special occasions.
