We were there, too, and it was the most crowded I have ever seen it. We met several Canadians and saw a lot of Japanese, too (far more than I usually see - maybe a holiday for them?) Many of the schools in Georgia had winter break, and Florida is so close for us that WDW seems the natural place to escape the winter weather. We saw one of my daughter's teachers in a bathroom at HS. Lots of us Georgians were there.
Part of it may have been the gorgeous weather last week, too. We experienced about 15 minutes of rain at MK on our entire trip. Nights and mornings were cool, but afternoons were outstandingly perfect. That may have brought more local passholders.
Lines were not so bad since we make good use of FP+ and plan extensively, but the worst was trying to walk the paths. I do not enjoy having to walk at a snail's pace and being bumped into (and accidentally bumping into others) over and over. I literally bounced off at least three people at three different times the paths were so crowded.
Still had a great time, but I was surprised that it was even more crowded than our Thanksgiving trip.
