Laundry rooms at FW

I just left FW this morning and had a wonderful time, for the most part. On Thursday, I went to the comfort station, to do laundry, when I saw the machines do not take coins. Instead, there is an app you are suppose to download and pay for laundry thru your phone! It took me a while to figure that out so, after downloading the app, I was presented with the machines that were available and, after making my selections, I was suppose to pay for them. Twice, I got a message that my payment was processed but the washers never turned on! Has anyone else used the laundry facilities? (I did contact FW front desk and tell them about it).

I have used them many times. Once you choose your machine, place your laundry and detergent inside and pay in the app, you must go to the machine and choose the wash settings before the machine will start. Same with the dryers.

I did all that but the washers were not starting. I will be home tomorrow, so I will check with my credit card company to see if I was billed for the 2 washers. The lady at the front desk at FW gave me the phone number to call if I was.

Is this fact or speculation?

At VGC you do have to pay with your card at the machine inside the laundry room but you just inform the front desk how much you spent and they will credit your room for that amount.

If DVC members are having to pay at CFW I would suspect it to be a similar process since we are supposed to have access to free laundry.

The laundry room accessible to Cabin guests is free of charge to use. The other laundry rooms at the Fort for non-Cabin guests are paid.

Which laundry room is this? Staying precruise in August and would love to wash up bathing suits before we board.

It’s by the pool located near the cabin loops.

No charge for cabin guests in that laundry room. If you venture into one of the camping loops’ laundry rooms, you would have to pay.

I never had an issue with the FW laundry. I used the wall kiosk in the past and I heard now you can do that or use an app. The one time I paid and the machine wouldn't turn on, a quick phone call as directed got me credit to start a different machine.

As a DVC owner, the only free DVC laundry I have ever experienced is when the room has a washer and dryer. If you got the resort laundry facilities you have to pay like everyone else. Maybe they do something special at FW cabins, I have not stayed there on points yet.

All of the DVC Resorts have free laundry facilities for use primarily by those staying in studios which don't have in-room machines.

Well then they must be a secret location, because we have had to pay at DVC Disneyland hotel, copper creek, AKL kidani. Except when we had in room.

Disneyland you will have to pay unless you get a card from someone at the the front desk or who is at that little desk in the dvc building but if you do pay you can get reimbursed.

Copper creek is on the 4th floor near the elevators and Kidani is on the first floor across from Community Hall (With the long hallways we dragged our clothes down in a rolling suitcase)

many of the machines at the WDW DVC Resorts have coin mechanisms, but you can just push it in without any coins. The non-DVC resorts at WDW use an mobile app for payment now.

I believe the magic bands and/or key cards are coded so that only cabin guests can open the door to the DVC laundry room.
