I'm going on the land/sea trip. 8 people total. I've read lots of you say not to use the dcl transfers, it cost to much and other stuff. But how can I find a van to fit 8 of us with luggage ( 2 each) and it be cheaper than the DCL transfers. I'm very  . Transfers are costing us @ $550 total. Can I find something cheaper?

I just took a quick look at www.fltours.com and they are showing a price of $300 for airport > resort > port > airport. That is in a van for 8 people. The other good thing about not using the DCL transfers is that you choose when you leave to go to the port. If you use DCL transfers, you're stuck with their schedule.

You sure can find something cheaper!!
We have a family of 10 traveling and we had the transfers added also. Then we got a quote from http://www.happylimo.com/
and were amazed at what we were saving! I Happy Limo charged $168.00 each way for the van for 10 people plus luggage. The difference was over $200.!!!
Barb also has a coupon on her site if you are using Happy Limo for round trip, but we only had one way so we couldn't use it.
Good Luck!

I have to believe they take the amount of luggage into account. Sure can't hurt to give them a call and discuss it.

I just got a quote from www.Orlandotransportationservices.com of $210 for 11 of us round trip from the airport. We also had to add an extra pickup at the Wyndham hotel in Orlando. I think that alone was an extra $40. I've never heard anything about this service but I would be interested in finding out about them for $20 per person!!

When we did land/sea in 2002 we had 7 of us. 4 adults and 3 kids and used ******** for our van. We had a bucketload of luggage I think between the 7 of us we had about 11 pieces of luggage or maybe more. They were extremely willing to accomodate us and if we would have had more luggage our driver told us they could pull a small trailer behind the van to help ease the luggage load inside (i'm assuming I would have had to tell them beforehand or we would have waited at the airport while he went to get one but it sounded very possible). When we arrived at MCO it was almost midnight local time. Our driver was waiting for the weary with a sign, helped us grab all of our luggage, put all of it in the van, unloaded it with the bell desk at the Poly, loaded it back in to go to the port, loaded it out with the porter and the reloaded it to go back to POR for 2 days before coming to get us and take us back to MCO. It was WONDERFUL service! This time we splurged and got your ride to take us to POR before our cruise and then found a limo to take the 5 of us (no inlaws this time) to the cruise. The total transportation for the 5 of us r/t from mco/por/port/mco is 300 dollars plus tip. I would think you would be able to beat that price with almost any transportation company and most if not all of them will handle or help handle your luggage!
