Why Not Just Queue Up Another Disney Trip? Link to New TR 6/24 p136!

Caught up on Williamsburg! It's so funny to see pictures of signs for I-64 on a TR! I'm from Richmond so we use 64 all the time.

I loved all your pictures from Williamsburg. Yall did a lot of cool things! My parents have 'season tickets' so they'll go a couple times a year, but I haven't been in years!

Busch Gardens W-burg isn't considered the dark side to a Virginian! However, I don't think I'll ever go to the one in Tampa, I'd feel like I was cheating on Disney.

UGH Europe in the Air. GAG. Motion sickness like crazy. That used to be something else, where you were like a leprechaun and you rode on a horse and had to escape a witch or something- I barely remember it because it also made me so motion sick. Ugh. Haha we always eat in Germany too. Das Festaus. So fancy. But the show is fun! If you do go back to Williamsburg YOU MUST ride the Griffon! It's one of my favorite rides EVER. So much fun. If you sit on one of the front edge seats you feel like you're flying. It's amazing!

Anyways, great pictures once again! I enjoyed the first part of your trip. Now to move on to Hilton Head! :woohoo:

------------------------------
Caught up with your Hilton Head trip now!
Oh my goodness... South of the Border. My family almost always goes on vacation to Myrtle Beach so we always pass South of the Border, but somehow in all our trips have NEVER stopped there. :confused3 :rotfl: Anyways, I really enjoyed reading all about it! I've never been been to Hilton Head, Savannah, OR Charleston, so I don't really have anything specific to comment on, other than yall got to do some really cool things! The pictures are gorgeous as well! :goodvibes

-------------------------------
NOW it's time for DISNEY! Hmm, during your late night hot tub excursion I was probably wandering around DTD half dead hahah.
I'm looking for myself in your Magic Kingdom morning photos, but no go. I'm guessing we were at opposite ends of the park at any given time. But you're right, it was BEAUTIFUL that morning! I couldn't believe how blue the sky was and how warm it was, it just did not feel like December. (Too bad the sky didn't stay blue though!)

I'm sorry about your neck, I hope it's gotten better!
I agree with you that Saturday was the perfect weather day! Your Jingle Jungle Parade photos are so great! (Really, all of your photos are great, but the JJP ones stick out to me because mine were so... ehh.)

I have to laugh at your story about driving through NYC... the SAME thing happened to me and my sister last summer! (We were Long Island bound as well.) Talk about STRESSFUL! Goodness.

YOUR OSBORNE LIGHTS PICTURES ARE SPECTACULAR! Goodness gracious! :worship:

I can't believe it but I'm FINALLY all caught up! AHH exciting! Hooray! Can't wait for more! (Sorry for the LONGEST COMMENT EVER, by the way!)

:welcome: Marissa!

Can I just say that I am totally impressed you took the time to read my TR since I'm so far into it. Wow - I don't know if I would have had the patience. Thanks for reading!

Speaking of W-burg - my DH Denny and I are actually going down this weekend. We are staying for two nights on a vacation that we supposedly won. :rotfl: Haha! We have to attend a 90 minute timeshare pitch. I haven't decided if we are going to get passes or not since I am supposed to return about 3 weeks later with my girlfriends.

Busch Gardens W-burg isn't considered the dark side to a Virginian! However, I don't think I'll ever go to the one in Tampa, I'd feel like I was cheating on Disney.

I would love to live closer to BG. I would definitely have a season's pass. It's such a beautiful park.

I would like to visit the Tampa BG one of these days.

UGH Europe in the Air. GAG. Motion sickness like crazy. That used to be something else, where you were like a leprechaun and you rode on a horse and had to escape a witch or something- I barely remember it because it also made me so motion sick. Ugh. That Europe in the Air was terrible. Definitely the worst ride I was on that day.

I have to tell you I am afraid of the Griffon. I hear it great but I am afraid I'll freak when it does that hand time thing. It does look totally cool. Wish I wasn't such a chicken. I have to admit, if its nice this weekend I may have a hard time staying away from BG.

Anyways, great pictures once again! I enjoyed the first part of your trip. Now to move on to Hilton Head! :woohoo:

So glad you liked the pics! I love taking pictures, as if you couldn't tell.

I'm really glad we stopped. It is definitely a must see at least once. If my friend L hadn't asked to visit I'm not sure I would have had the nerve to venture in myself.

I've never been been to Hilton Head, Savannah, OR Charleston, so I don't really have anything specific to comment on, other than yall got to do some really cool things! The pictures are gorgeous as well! :goodvibes

If you ever get a chance to visit any of those three places - do it! I enjoyed each place. So different from any of the towns up here in the Northeast. I am already plotting a return visit next spring. Denny has never been there and I think he would love it.

-------------------------------
NOW it's time for DISNEY! Hmm, during your late night hot tub excursion I was probably wandering around DTD half dead hahah.

Believe me - I considered a quick trip to DTD. I totally missed it this trip, but I'm sure we will visit in June.

It really was the perfect day to kick of a vacation. I know the days that followed were pretty overcast, but it was certainly better than the rain they had the weekend before. I was originally supposed to go the weekend before and it sounded like it was a washout, so I think we actually lucked out.

I'm sorry about your neck, I hope it's gotten better!

Thanks! It's so much better. I think I was pretty lucky that it healed fast.

I agree with you that Saturday was the perfect weather day! Your Jingle Jungle Parade photos are so great! (Really, all of your photos are great, but the JJP ones stick out to me because mine were so... ehh.)

I love that parade. It's really my favorite day time parade. I'm so glad we decided to stay for the parade that day.

Glad you like the pics. I used my distance lens and just tried to shot over the people in front of me.

I have to laugh at your story about driving through NYC... the SAME thing happened to me and my sister last summer! (We were Long Island bound as well.) Talk about STRESSFUL! Goodness.

I'm glad that I'm not the only person who has gotten lost in NYC, although I don't wish that on my enemy. It was not a fun time at all. I just kept driving around in circles. Ugh - so frustrating! And Stressful, indeed!

YOUR OSBORNE LIGHTS PICTURES ARE SPECTACULAR! Goodness gracious! :worship:

Thanks! They really are my favorite pictures of the whole trip! I'm so glad we decided to see them this trip!

I can't believe it but I'm FINALLY all caught up! AHH exciting! Hooray! Can't wait for more! (Sorry for the LONGEST COMMENT EVER, by the way!)

I can't believe you are all caught up either. Like I said before - I am pretty impressed!

Whew! All caught up. Got back last Thursday and have been sick ever since. Thankfully wasn't sick on the trip. I must say I'm in love with cruising and will let you know when I start my TR which should be within the week. Was going to start this weekend but have slept through it.

Your AP meal looks fabulous! Must get there one of these trips. Your OL shots made me feel I was there all over again, so beautiful! Shame on that brother for still putzing, I would be so mad! And a happy dance for getting your waitlisted day so fast, that definitely takes the stress off, that part at least.

AP is lovely! DH and I went there on our anniversary trip in 09 and let me tell you what - they treated us like royalty. All we did was show up with our anniversary pins. They gave us champagne, light up characters with our dessert, and our own menu. Plus our waitress took our picture and just generally made a big fuss over us. It was wonderful. We sat right near the window which was also lovely. Definitely a fan of AP.
We ate there in '09 before it became signature and really enjoyed it *and were really glad it was covered on the DDP!

You are going to love the safari. It is a really cool experience. I think Joe should be more afraid of the hippos. Wait until you see how wide they can open their mouths. :scared1:
oh goodie! something new for me to torment him with in advance:lmao::lmao:all in humour of course!

Did you guys have a bad experience there?

I stayed there in May a couple years ago and I don't love the theme for a spring/summer stay. But for the fall and Christmas I think its great. I am a little sad we didn't get to stay there this Christmas, but I'll eventually make it back there for the decorations. :)
well our 2011 trip did not have the best start. When we finally got settled in the fourth room (they seriously overbooked and at one point tried to put Joe, Katie and I in a room with a single King sized bed). it got better but DH was not thrilled with the lack of Disney's usual customer service and it kind of soured him to the resort.

I am super excited about the Boardwalk! :thumbsup2
YAY!!!!

Driving to OKW is about the same distance as driving to DTD from anywhere on property. It's very easy to find. It's right next to SSR and right off one of the main roads. If you go there just go through the main entrance and park at the Hospitality House. There is a general parking lot there. Then head on over to the gurgling suitcase. It really is a cute little bar.

good to know, thanks!

I think the totem poles are so interesting. I love the story about how they put the two totem poles directly across from one another and when the lobby was blessed the native americans said it was bad luck. So Disney had to figure out how to move one of the totem poles so that it is 6inches (I think) to the side. Crazy. You can't tell, but it got the lobby blessed!
I love that story too. I loved going up to each floor level and taking pictures and looking closer at the carvings on every level.

Welcome back! :goodvibes So sorry to hear you have been sick but I am certainly glad to hear that you weren't sick on the trip. thank goodness! I'm so glad you are going to start your TR soon. I can't wait to read all about it. popcorn:: I bet it was great!

The AP meal was really great. A great way to end the trip.

Glad you like the OL shots. They are my favorite from the trip.

I gave my brother until Good Friday - that would be Friday April 6th to give a Yes or No on whose going and a head count. I told him I wasn't asking again. If I didn't hear from it we were going to make alternate plans (that would mean inviting someone else). Of course, in all fairness I should email SIL and tell her what I told him because they do not communicate well, or at all. :sad2:

Very excited about the waitlist coming through! :goodvibes

I didn't know that AP was once a regular TS credit. Interesting because I always thought it was weird that WL did not have a TS meal other than that place I can't stand with the napkin twirling and the ketchup antics. I am totally blanking on the name right now. .[/QUOTE]

oh goodie! something new for me to torment him with in advance:lmao::lmao:all in humour of course!.

I'll have to post a picture for you on your TR. It's THAT creepy!

That does not sound like a good experience at all. I'm surprised they didn't comp you a night after that kind of run around. Yikes!

So excited about my seamless BWV stay. :woohoo:

good to know, thanks!.

I hope you do get a chance to stop there. You could park, have a drink, and pick up the boat to DTD right near the Gurgling suitcase. How's that for convience!

I love that story too. I loved going up to each floor level and taking pictures and looking closer at the carvings on every level.

I really want to take the lodge tour again when I stay there in the fall. I find all that trivia so interesting. I usually forget most of it, but its all great stuff.

I just love the WL and especially at Christmas---beautiful!

Great family picture in front of the tree!

What a great meal. We may have to try that sometime.

You got the nephews some great t-shirts!

It really is one of the best resorts for a Christmas stay. I can't wait until I get a chance to stay there near the holidays.

Great family picture in front of the tree!

Thanks. That's one of my favorites for this trip!

AP is a wonderful meal. Definitely put it on your list! Its the perfect combo of ambiance, service, and good food.:thumbsup2

Monday December 19th.....Our Last Day and Goodbye to OKW. sniff sniff

But first of recap of Day 4:

Mission Space
Spaceship Earth
Sum of All Thrills (the boys)
Living With the Land
Captain EO
Club Cool
The Gurgling Suitcase & The Turtle Crawl
Muppets
Osbourne Lights
WL & Artist Point

It was a nice last full day in the world and I could barely keep my eyes open when we got back to the room. I pretty much crashed into bed. I did start packing up Nick's suitcase because he is such a huge procrastinator. I didn't want him slowing us down in the morning.

I'd like to say I woke up full of energy on our last day. But that's not exactly what happened. In fact, sometime in the middle of the night I woke up extremely nauseous. It was so severe that I just headed straight to the bathroom and made it just in time to toss my cookies. I remember thinking - great I must have food poisoning. But then I noticed that Denny - who had the exact same thing to eat as me - was not turning green over the toilet bowl.

So my conclusion - Well, I think I may have mixed too many different types of alcohol. Let's see - I had my homemade adult beverage (ice tea vodka and lemonade), the turtle crawl, and two glasses of wine with dinner, but what I failed to mention was the creamsicle that I drank somewhere in between all that. I'll blame that on Denny. He carted this big bottle of premixed creamsicles in his luggage and he wanted me to help him drink some so he didn't have to throw out half a bottle. I don't normally drink that stuff because its cheap liquor and a million calories. But, hey, it was my last night of vacation, so I tossed caution to the wind and filled up a resort mug full of creamsicles. :sad2:

Here's what I learned. Even though I drank all this over a period of 7 or 8 hours, my body can't mix. Lush - I guess so.

The good news - when I woke up the next morning I didn't feel terrible. I certainly was in no mood to go for a run, but I got up and packed with out difficult. Then I went out to say goodbye to OKW. Here's some of the pictures I took.

Yup - That's right - We went to Epcot and the overwhelming majority (that would be 2 out 3 ) requested we go here

IMG_1857.jpg

Fortunately we arrived as the pre show was starting.

I made a half hearted attempt to take NON Flash pictures

IMG_1852.jpg

Of course - if you've been in Ellen you know that is pitch black in a lot of spots, so pictures weren't that easy.

Thanks to Bill Nye the Science guy Ellen is able to kick Judy's **** in Jeopardy.

True Story - I used to find Ellen extremely annoying. I don't mean the attraction, I mean Ellen Degeneres the comedian. I found her original show very annoying. I couldn't even watch it. But after I sat through her energy adventure for the first time even I, so not an Ellen fan, actually liked the attraction and I saw a new, entertaining side to her. I like her now as a comedian, but back in the late 90's everything about her felt forced.

OK - moving on

Hmmm...at HHI you decorate the parking lot with your "adult beverage" but no morning after repercussions. During this trip the "adult beverages" are consumed but it resulted in kneeling before the large porcelain water container. There is a lesson to be heeded here somewhere but darn if I know what it is. Pardon me while I :drinking1

This lobby reminded me a lot of Hilton Head!

IMG_1824.jpg
Great, just rub it in that I didn't make it to HHI! Why don't you remind me I haven't been to WDW in almost 2 years while you're at it? :lmao:

You know I love your TR's. Can't wait for more!

Aw, sorry that you got sick overnight, but I'm glad you were still able to get going the next morning.

IMG_1836.jpg

Does that guy have a suitcase of alcohol?

Yeah, he carries a half-full bottle of creamsicles.

Wow, the OKW lobby sure looks beautiful with the morning sun streaming through the windows.

Oh no! I'm glad your little alcohol mixing mishap didn't ruin your whole day.

Pretty pictures of OKW. Even the phone pictures!

I remember going on Ellen's Energy Adventure many, many years ago. Tim & the boys have never been & Alex really wants to check it off in his "Guide to the Magic" book. Every trip I try to squeeze it in, but it's not exactly an attraction that squeezes very well! Hopefully we'll get to check it out in April. :confused3

Wonderful pictures of OKW, MaryEllen. I do love that resort.

Sorry you got a little "under the weather" from mixing drinks. I learned several years ago that I can't mix drinks anymore.

Great photos around Epcot. I've got to put "Ellen" back on my list for our next visit...we've missed it the last couple of trips.

Oh man, the tossing of cookies is never something good. I have experienced that at WDW before. Sadly, I cannot simply say it's the mixing of drinks. :lmao: Perhaps more quantity. :rolleyes1

I love Ellen's Energy Adventure. Stupid Judy! :rotfl:

2 Very strong Mai Tais and Chicken wings for dinner did it to me too. Lost half a day. It was strange but after I woke up the second time I was fine. Moving slow but fine. :confused3

Oh no! I'm sorry you got sick. I'm glad you realized what it was though!

Old Key West is gorgeous, I love seeing all your pictures. For some reason I feel like it's the resort I know the least about.

I think you may be on to something... Ellen (at least as far as I know) is so much funnier these days!

Sorry to hear you got sick, but glad it didn't last!
While going through your pictures I realized I don't remember ever seeing OKW pictures before! How does that happen? Anyway it's absolutely beautiful.
YAY Ellen! I don't remember Ellen the comedian from the '90s, so I can't comment on that, but I like her a lot now and watch her show sometimes. Also, I love Dory.
Look at all that gorgeous Epcot Christmas stuff! My two favourite things, Epcot and Christmas. :lovestruc
