MEK, your plans for December sound great so far. You do know it is two queen beds and not two full beds at OKW, don't you?

YAY!! I'm so excited to finally see your plans!!!

And I'm totally thrilled to be meeting up with you on Thursday!! Yum yum does Hacienda and your other ADR's sound fantastic!! And those drinks, such interesting flavor combinations but I've heard such great things about them!

Osbourne Lights...:lovestruc Oh how I love them!! Backlot Tour..I really do miss the old tour, before they put the Lights Motor Action Up. It's so short now since they took out the houses portion of the tour. Although, seeing the Osbourne Lights during the day on the ride is pretty fantastic!

Your drive through Baltimore shouldn't be that bad. Are you taking 50 to 2 or getting on 97? I've driven back to my parents house during the week and I really don't think it'll be a problem.

And poor Nick..trust me I have struggled with my face too. The biggest thing for me was my diet and stress. Try to have him limit dairy as much as he can, and unfortunately college just breaks you out. No matter how hard you try to not let it. I feel his pain :guilty:

Great plans for your December trip! I'm sorry that VWL was not available for your dates but yay on staying at OKW!! Can't wait to hear all about your stay here.

We have a lunch ADR for Yak and Yeti and that is a keeper. I've tried to eat there a bunch of times and something always happens - either I can't get the ADR or I cancel it. So come hell or high water, I am NOT canceling this ADR. I know Y&Y did away with the snow cone martinis, but I would like to try that drink Pat (poolrat) had. The name escapes me right now but its something mountainy!

It was a Yak Attack!!! Yummy!

Your plans look great.

My last trip during NYE - 09 I missed the GF too. If you can make some time to see the Boardwalk and Beach Club resorts.
If you are going between EPCOT and DHS, I just did it on my way.

Oh wow! Your plans sound fabulous! It will be fabulous!!!!!

Thanks Melissa. It's pretty hard to make it non fabulous, so I'm ready. The only thing that may be bad is Nick sleeps late went he doesn't have to go to school. He'll just have to find his own way to the parks.

MEK, your plans for December sound great so far. You do know it is two queen beds and not two full beds at OKW, don't you?

Did I say "full" beds? I think what I meant was 2 beds as opposed to a bed and pull out. I think Nick will enjoy having a bed period. I do think the queen beds give a lot more room, so :cool1:

Packing now!

YAY!! I'm so excited to finally see your plans!!!

I know - I can't wait! I am so excited to be kicking my trip off with the MK and a DIS meet. It reminds me of the old days when I always started a trip at MK. I just can't wait to see all the decorations. I'm taking pictures of EVERYTHING!

Lately I have been thinking of dropping La Hacienda and eating CS in Epcot. That will give us more time to get over to HS and back. We usually drive to the parks, but maybe we should just bus it to Epcot. Decisions. Decisions!

I didn't realize the tour changed. that's how long its been since I've been on it. I want to see all the cool costumes and props I've seen pictures of.

The more I think about the more I know I have to see the Osbourne lights. I really need to take pictures of them and work on my night time photography.

Your drive through Baltimore shouldn't be that bad. Are you taking 50 to 2 or getting on 97? I've driven back to my parents house during the week and I really don't think it'll be a problem.

Let me think about that. We usually go down 301 to Rt 50 and then the gps takes us on some road with a lot of lights. Is that Rt 2? Before we had the gps we would just follow the signs on Rt 50 and I guess that would take us to 97. I think that would be the best way to go during rush hour, but Denny trusts that stupid gps beyond everything else.

We like the 301 route, even though its a tad longer than going down 95. It's just so much more relaxing.

And poor Nick..trust me I have struggled with my face too. The biggest thing for me was my diet and stress. Try to have him limit dairy as much as he can, and unfortunately college just breaks you out. No matter how hard you try to not let it. I feel his pain :guilty:

Its a shame because the first antibiotic he went on completely cleared his face, but then it came back this summer with a vengeance. I really don't like the idea of him taking multiple antibiotics either. The dermatologist is just very worried about scaring at this point.

Great plans for your December trip! I'm sorry that VWL was not available for your dates but yay on staying at OKW!! Can't wait to hear all about your stay here.

:welcome: to my Trip Report and to the DIS boards. Hope you enjoy! I am looking forward to OKW. I think its going to be a great resort! :)

It was a Yak Attack!!! Yummy!

.

Yak, mountainy. I was close. :rotfl: I just have to remember the name of the restaurant. That would help! :rolleyes1

Your plans look great.

I really should make a point of seeing the Boardwalk and BC decorations. BC, BW, and GF are the ones I'm most interested in seeing. Those and I specifically want to see the Villas at WL, not just the main lodge!

Wow! Your plans sound great. I am so envious of a December trip. There's really nothing like the World at holiday time. :santa:

You have some great dinners planned. Funny, I've never made it to Y&Y either... I try almost every time but something always happens. :confused3 I agree, the Yak Attack looks yummy. FYI- in case plans go awry, I believe you can also order the drink at one of the nearby stands/carts.

All the decorations are great but I really love Wilderness Lodge. I think it is at its best at Christmas. I've never eaten at AP so can't wait to hear what you guys think.

Have a great time!! I will be looking forward to another trip report and more amazing pictures! :goodvibes

Your Christmas trip sounds like so much fun -- if I ever do a holiday trip, I want it to be just like yours. :goodvibes

The Osbourne Lights, there are just NO words for them. You will be taking pictures alllll night long :rotfl:

I talked to my dad and he said that taking 301 to 50 to 97 is probably the best way. The road with all the lights on it is route 2 (toward Severna Park), but you'd have to go down 10, and 2 always has traffic on it. There is an exit right on 97 for BWI and since it's 65 mph on that road, it usually doesn't get backed up too badly. I think you'll be fine! :thumbsup2

I've read so much on antibiotics and that is actually what kills the bacteria in your stomach that helps with your immune system. It's so backwards. I started eating yogurt every day, greek yogurt and it really helps because it replenishes the natural bacteria. And I was always the same way, I found one antibiotic that worked and then summers would hit me hard and then college just destroyed me. Microderm abrasion helps really well with scars too. I wish the best for him!

Your plans for December sound great! :thumbsup2 I can't believe you are arriving right when I'm leaving! Figures! :rotfl:

I'm still so undecided about the Christmas Party! I was talking to Brandon about it last night and he doesn't see the point of doing it again, since we've done it twice, but I feel like if I don't do it, I'm going to regret it. And I feel like if I do, I'm going to be mad at myself for spending so much $$$ on a parade and fireworks! AHHHH! Why is Disney planning so hard? :rotfl:

Your plans sound amazing! I can' wait to hear what you think about OKW! We had our first snowfall here yesterday and a trip to the sunshine state would be great right about now:lmao:

I would love to see WDW at Christmas, but I really hate large crowds & long lines! Your tree looks great with all of the Disney ornaments.
I had so much stuff for Christmas that I just gave away most of it. The kids didn't any of it, oh they took a box or two, but not much. A friend of mine got her kids an ornament every year, now she's stuck with them because the kids don't want them!

I can't believe how long we have been empty nesters! It's great, but I would like to see the boys more often. When they marry usually the wife"s family gets the most visits.:sad2:

I forgot about the Pooh queue. I'd never been on that ride before so didn't realize the queue was improved. It was cute, but we didn't really have the chance to interact as the ride time was non-existent.

Hooray for your trip being so close!!! You are so sweet to ask about mine, I am so excited! I hated that I had to 'get through' Thsnksgiving first, but now that's over and I did enjoy it, but am so ready for a real break.

I love your go with the flow plans. That's exactly what we're doing. I'm really hoping it won't be a problem getting into the CP, but if it is there's always next year. We're also getting APs and TiW, which I'm sure will result in a few unplanned extra trips next year... Also going to CG which will be a first, it sounds so delicious! AP has been on my wish list for a while, cant wait to see pictures. The parade at AK looks so cute. There is so much to see, I'm hoping my envisioned relaxing trip doesn't get too tiring.

Hooray for vacation!!!

Wow! Your plans sound great. I am so envious of a December trip. There's really nothing like the World at holiday time.

I am so looking forward to the Christmas spirit in Disney. I am going to totally focus on everything Christmas - all the details, large and small. :santa:

You have some great dinners planned. Funny, I've never made it to Y&Y either... I try almost every time but something always happens. :confused3 I agree, the Yak Attack looks yummy. FYI- in case plans go awry, I believe you can also order the drink at one of the nearby stands/carts.

Good to know about the Yak Attack, but unless someone gets sick or injured I am going to Y&Y this time. I planned this ADR because I really want to try it and I also tried to pick places I knew Nick would like. So nothing better disturb my plans this time.

CG and AP were two of my favorite restaurants from past trips, so even though there are other siggies I want to try, I picked these because I love them and I know Nick will too.

All the decorations are great but I really love Wilderness Lodge. I think it is at its best at Christmas. I've never eaten at AP so can't wait to hear what you guys think.

That's why I'm disappointed that I'm not staying there. When I bought those points I did so with the intention of staying there during Christmas. Oh well.

Have a great time!! I will be looking forward to another trip report and more amazing pictures! :goodvibes

I can't believe its so close now, but I feel more ready because I've decorated for Christmas and I am packed! :woohoo:

Your Christmas trip sounds like so much fun -- if I ever do a holiday trip, I want it to be just like yours. :goodvibes

I feel a little anti-Disney for not doing the Christmas party, but I still think I made the right decision. I don't think Denny has any interest in another Christmas party. He only went the first time for me. I'm glad you like my plans. I think it's a good combo of eating and park time! ;)

Your tree looks fantastic! I love your Disney ornaments!

Thanks! Nick asked me if it shrunk! I had to remind him that we have two trees but as of late I have been using the smaller one because its in better shape. I was soooooo tempted to get a live one, but I let the temptation pass.

The Osbourne Lights, there are just NO words for them. You will be taking pictures alllll night long :rotfl:

I know. Now that I have a better camera and I know how to use it (somewhat), it could be dangerous. Plus editing those pics will be fun too.

:thumbsup2

I'm glad your dad suggested that route, because that's exactly what my thoughts were. Now I have some ammo for convincing Denny that its the best way. The funny thing about our GPS is it always takes us via Rt 2 to the airport, but it never takes us back that way, which makes no sense to me. :confused3

Oh, believe me, I was not thrilled with Nick taking all those antibiotics, especially since I have had C Diff and I know ABX are the major risk for that. That's exactly what happened with Nick. All of a sudden his face broke out again this summer. I tell you what, he has a great attitude about his face. Brian freaked the minute he got a pimple, but Nick just takes it all in stride. He just has a lot of inner confidence and it shows through.

Your plans for December sound great! :thumbsup2 I can't believe you are arriving right when I'm leaving! Figures! :rotfl:

:

That's about as bad timing as you can have and we have to arrive at night because of school. It's a bummer. So close, so close.

:rotfl:

I don't think you'll care about the money once you spend it and I'm sure you'll enjoy the party as long as Brandon is into it. And I will do another Christmas party, but it will be in November, not December. :rotfl: I did love that no one was on the rides, but the party events were just too crowded and I ended up getting in front of someone in my zest for taking firework pictures and then she got upset and I felt terrible because I just wasn't thinking. And I literally could not find one place to stand where I wasn't in someone's way. Any way, I can do without that this year.

I agree, Disney planning can be exhausting. :rotfl:

Your plans sound amazing! I can' wait to hear what you think about OKW! We had our first snowfall here yesterday and a trip to the sunshine state would be great right about now:lmao:

Snow????? Hikes! We are having some unseasonably warm weather here (65 degrees) and it is heaven. But its going to be gone in a few days. At least no snow on the horizon....yet!

I can't wait to try OKW. I have a feeling I am really going to like it. Can't wait!

I would love to see WDW at Christmas, but I really hate large crowds & long lines!

According to TSM we have low crowds during our dates, but I have a feeling it will pick up by the time we leave. I'm sure I'll manage somehow. :rotfl:

Your tree looks great with all of the Disney ornaments.
I had so much stuff for Christmas that I just gave away most of it. The kids didn't any of it, oh they took a box or two, but not much. A friend of mine got her kids an ornament every year, now she's stuck with them because the kids don't want them!

Thanks!

I have way too much Christmas stuff too and I really need to get rid some of it. It's just so hard because I have always had a passion for Christmas ornaments. Little by little I am downsizing! :thumbsup2

The other day I was looking at all the ornaments with pictures of the kids when they were little. I actually bought those when I was pregnant with Brian and saved them till I have toddler pics. sniff sniff.

I can't believe how long we have been empty nesters! It's great, but I would like to see the boys more often. When they marry usually the wife"s family gets the most visits.:sad2:

I know that's true, but I think Nick will be good about coming to visit. He's just really thoughtful like that. :goodvibes

I forgot about the Pooh queue. I'd never been on that ride before so didn't realize the queue was improved. It was cute, but we didn't really have the chance to interact as the ride time was non-existent.

Woo Hoo! for a nonexistent queue. that's a rarity - for sure!

Have you updated recently? I need to check it out!

Hooray for your trip being so close!!! You are so sweet to ask about mine, I am so excited! I hated that I had to 'get through' Thsnksgiving first, but now that's over and I did enjoy it, but am so ready for a real break.

I know what you mean about Thanksgiving. Sometimes I just don't feel up for it, but this year I took off 5 days and it really helped get me into the spirit and Thanksgiving felt fun instead of an obligation.

:cool1: Woo Hoo for a real break!

Hooray for vacation!!!

If you have never done the Christmas parade at AK you should check it out. It's adorable and really my favorite daytime parade. I'm not sure what it is about that parade, but I just love it.

:thumbsup2 for CG. I hope you love it. I had one of my favorite ever waiters there. That CM was awesome. He had been working there for over 20 years and told me he NEVER tires of going to work and seeing the spectacular view. He said it is so different depending on the time of day and the season.

AP is also a wonderful meal and helped me fall in love with the WL. It's really a lovely restaurant with a great staff.

Two weeks and 1 day and my suitcase is Packed! :cool1:

Going to buy a second park ticket today with my $250 in AAA rebate certificates. Having $500 towards park tickets certainly made this trip less expensive! :thumbsup2

You are packed with two weeks to go? You rock, woman!

And :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for all that savings on park tickets. :)

Sounds like a great December trip! If you need more people from Delaware to fill in, just let me know! :rotfl2:

You are packed with two weeks to go? You rock, woman!

I never do anything early, but for some reason I can always get my packing done way ahead of schedule. It helps that I don't need to wear any of the shorts I packed. :rotfl:

And :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for all that savings on park tickets. :)

I am very excited about that. All I really will need to pay for is the upgrades to an AP on the two AAA tickets and the one day ticket I have left over from 09.

That is wonderful news! :cool1:

I love getting a dscount on tickets! I said to Denny, "Isn't that great?" and he said "not when I think about all the thousands of dollars we have already spent". Kill Joy! :rotfl:

Sounds like a great December trip! If you need more people from Delaware to fill in, just let me know! :rotfl2:

:rotfl: Thanks! I seriously can't wait! I am so looking forward to the Christmas decorations! :santa: I feel like a little kid!

Great couple of updates, I loved all your pics. So crazy about that tour guide, she sounded a little uptight!

Great plans for your Dec trip, I love it there for Christmas but I haven't been able to go for that time of the year for a long time. Maybe we'll get there soon.

You have me wishing for a HHI trip now with your amazing report! What a BEAUTIFUL and fun area!

Your December plans are looking great too-Christmas in Disney is so wonderful, I can't wait to go back at this time of year again. :cloud9:
