Why is Yavn so "Famous?"

I have noticed many people consider Yavn "God like" in VMK. I don't understand why. Yavn is a tester just as any other tester and yet, he recieves the most attention. I have never seen one shread of proof that explains how Yavn "created" VMK. If I am missing something, or if someone has any amount of evidence relating to how Yavn actually "made" VMK, please share. If no one should have any direct proof, I can only believe that the whole "Yavn created VMK" thing is a rumor. I will continue to believe that Yavn's word is no more than that of any other tester and staff member.

Yavn isn't a tester, he is a programmer and is one of the lead programmers. I've verified this when I was at DL, and so have many other players on VMK has done. If you don't believe that he is the main person so be it.

He was NOT the maker of VMK.He was on the team of makers for VMK.He is not only a tester but a maker.He gets some things testers don't even get to test until later.He is very 'god like' in VMK and I don't know why.

Well, Yavn occasionally posts on the "other" site. And here is a post from him that I found:

The game is aimed at kids and most kids are not awake all night. We also do a lot of our testing and development while the game is closed.

That is him. And I know he's not fibbing. I was actually looking for a pic I saw a while back of him in the game stating that he is the producer of the game.
He is the lead developer and works for the Disney company and Sulake.

How do I know that he gets things testers don't?Well..I asked him and alyuel and Sillysyl.I know a LOT about Sillysyl. I happen to know for a fact she is a mother of two children. One is 8 and one is 2. How do I know this? I've been a good friend of all staff members and tetsers since beta. Silly always warmed up to me. She let her daugher be on my list because she trusts me. Sheesh, her daugher can spill!If that helps at all..then your welcome.Oh, I always know for a fact, yavn and all testers/game makers can only play in afternoon-night on weekdays and cannot play on weekends. Yavn is a big disappointment to me, we have repeatedly asked him to become a member here and post and repeatly he has decided to ignore us.


He continues to post on the fansite but deems us, here at the DIS, unworthy of his attention or respect, at least that is how it seems because he has never taken the time to join or make one post here.

I know we are not the only other VMK board on the WWW and he can not post to all of them but we are a community of 82,394 compared to VMK fansites 3338. Now I know not all 82,394 members visit the VMK boards here on the DIS but I think it is safe to say we have as many members here as they do there. And still he chooses to ignore us.

A little recognition is not alot to ask for....sorry end of rant.

Mal, this seems a bit harsh to me. Yavn does not post here that is true, but the information does find its way to the DIS VMK forum. He does not post on the other site much either and when he does it is usually to clairify speculation. To say that he considers the DIS unworthy of his attention and respect is IMHO, unfounded.

Sorry that you find the truth harsh. I also know we need to just from the start know we are going to disagree here about Yavn. I know you are friends and you will defend him so it is best that we just agree to disagree about him.

He takes the time to post to the fansite, and yes I know he does not do it often, he even thanked all of them for wishing him a Happy Birthday.

I do beleive we had a birthday thread here also no thank yous to us were made.

It takes all of a few minutes to register and post or even copy and paste a post here at the DIS. And still he has not made even one post here. He posted as late as yesterday at the fansite.

While yes it is true that information finds it's way here, are we not as important a fanbase as the fansite members?
