I would like to take my ODD to Disney to celebrate the end of kindergarten. We have three girls, and this would be something I would do for each of our girls when they finish Kindergarten.

Anyway. I am looking to go May 27-31. For a value resort, 3 day tickets for the two of us, and the dining plan, it comes to around $1200, and that is with a 30% pin. This seems to expensive....

Any advice? :confused3

Check to see if you have the park hopper included with the tickets. 3 day tickets can be quite pricey.

You could probably drop the dining plan. You can do it cheaper yourself. Unless you think it's easier to have it paid for in advance.

You might want to look at staying off property. You can get really nice accomodations off site for a lot less than onsite.

Just my 2 cents.

It's memorial day weekend, so the prices will naturally be a bit higher. Can you look at a different weekend?

Edited to add: I just priced out your trip and just you and your DD staying at Pop(regular, not prefered room) with 3 day base parkhoppers, regular dining plan plan and no trip insurance would cost $1086. So maybe you have a preferred room selected, or parkhoppers, or trip insurance??? But regardless, that doesn't even include the 30% off pin, that's regular, rack rate pricing....

I just did a quick look at booking for you and your DD. For those dates, I got $1220 at ASMusic with 3 day tickets (no hoppers) and the 2QS dining plan, no PIN. Are you sure your PIN was applied?

Hmm, maybe the Pin wasn't applied....

I didn't even think about it being Memorial Day weekend! UGH!!!! I will try to look at a different weekend. I was just thinking that would be a good weekend to go before it got too hot, didn't think about the holiday.

Back to the drawing board! Thank you!!! :)

About $450 of that is cost is for tickets for one adult and one child, without park hoppers or water parks (by the way, a 4-day ticket is about $10 more per person than a three day ticket if you might want to go to a park the last day). The dining plan for one adult and one child is around $55 per day - worth it if you plan some expensive table service meals or character meals, but you can also do mainly counter service, plan one character meal, and pay out of pocket.

If you drop the dining plan, you can book room only and buy tickets through Undercover Tourist - you'll save a little bit. But if you want the dining plan, you need to book a package with room and tickets (with a few exceptions).

The 30% off pin is only for the room portion of your trip, not the tickets or dining plan. For 2011 at the values, regular season is May 1-June 2 - no surcharge for Memorial Day weekend.

If you are pricing on the Disney website, it seems that Disney always wants to quote preferred rooms and tickets with hopping and water parks. You may have to de-select these options.
