Why is the receipt so long?

Have any of you shopped at CVS lately? I went there today and bought a Gatorade and deodorant. The receipt I walked out with could've wallpapered my living room.

I know they contain coupons, but man, what a waste of paper!

I'm with you on that. It's ridiculously long. The receipt should be upon request, or at least have the cashier's ask if they need a receipt before they print it.

Yes! I have had to shop at Kmart the last 2 days. All that paper is ridiculous. At least there is an option for an e-receipt.

Wow - that must be some receipt. I haven't shopped at CVS in a while. I do shop regularly at Kroger and every time the cashier hands me the receipt, I am amazed at how long it is. It is totally unnecessary.

I really am beginning to feel that way about ally receipts. Especially grocery stores.
I save my receipts and log all my expenses on a spreadsheet. My purse gets messy very quickly with these 3foot long paper tapes!

The coupons are for such random things that I never buy. I could understand it if it was an alternate brand of a previous purchase but it isn't.
