Why Is Tangled So Popular?!

I really tear up on this seen, and when I hear the music. A beautiful little 5 year old girl from our community died in Sept from brain cancer. Tangled was her favorite movie and at her birthday/memorial celebration someone sang "I see the light" and her parents and 2 big sisters released a lantern and over 500 of us released lite balloons. It was truly beautiful and there was not a dry eye in the crowd.

This week her parents and 2 big sisters got to take the trip that they were all suppose to take. Make a wish had promised her a trip, but her cancer was so aggressive, she was diagnosed in June and died on Sept. 11th. Make a wish does not send the families after a child dies, so our community and over 18,000 people on face book contributed money to make sure this family got their trip. I think the girls had a good time, but the parents really struggled to put on a happy face when all they could think of is how their beautiful baby girl was not there. They bought her pins, got her her own autograph book and brought a stuffed hamster that she had when she was sick. they posted a photo with stitch and the hamster was sitting in his ear!!

If you want to read her story, her website is getwellgabby.org Her parents are starting a foundation to help end childhood cancer.

SO sad! :sad1:

I liked Tangled but I think a lot of the "love" was because people didn't like Princess and the Frog. I don't know why but I've heard many people say they just didn't get it our couldn't "relate" to it.:confused3

I personally think they are both equally good movies: Great songs, Solid story-lines and great animation.

I turn 17 in less than 2 months and i love this movie:) I think it is one of the best Disney movies made since Aladdin. Personally, i love it bc the songs are catchy and can be stuck in your head all day. They brought new life to the tale and did it wonderfully. The lantern scene is by far my favorite scene in pretty much all Disney movies(I even have the song on my iPod).

I think what makes it appealing is it the focus on Flynn and he appeals to young boys. He starts the movie, has fights in the movie, and end the movie. He isnt a "prince", he is a cool thief. Disney equally balances out Repunzel and Flynn so that it equally appeals to both boys and girls, something most princess movies do not do.

When it first came into theaters i thought it was going to be stupid, and i also thought PatF would be amazing-but it was actually the opposite.

Something about PatF I did not really like. I think it was because there was a lot of focus on magic and not so much on the story. I tried to like it but i just can't:confused3. It may also be because I only remember one song, the one she sings about her resteraunt, as opposed to most Disney movies where I remember almost all of them, Tangled included. Even my friends arent too fond of it, yet most others we all rave about.

It is really about expectations and your own personal views/experiences that make a movie what it is and how you view it popularity wise.

Tangled is the best animated Disney movie since The Lion King, that's why its so popular. FACT! :thumbsup2
