I went to WDW for 8 days in mid July and was wondering why I saw Stitch EVERYWHERE. Stitch's great Escape was terrible. There are plush Stitches everywhere. He's on the monorail recording, all over the Poly gift shop, he's even in the wake up call. Why has Stitch become such a major character? Lilo and Stitch was OK, but it wasn't nearly the movie Lion King, Aladdin, Little Mermaid or any of the other classics were. Why is Disney pushing this annoying little character so hard.

Well lots of kids love him and he's at the poly beacuse the poly is based on hawaii and thats where stich lives. But, he's always been on the reacording! :thumbsup2 :lmao: :smokin: :bounce: :rolleyes2 ::yes:: :crazy2:  :shamrock: :yoda: :hmghost: :tilt: :jumping2:

Stich has recently been inducted, but not officialy, into the hall of VIPs. He is righ there next to daisy and chip and dale.

You see him all over the world because that is his birthplace. HE was born right in the back of the Disney MGM studios.

and he's a prety cool character. I'm intersted to see what Chris Sanders next project will be like , American Dog

I absolutely love Stitch and consider the movie on par with Lion King, and Beauty and the Beast.
The ride, however, sucks in my opinion.

my two cents... I think Stitch is everywhere because of Stitch's Great Escape ride in Tomorrowland. He has 'escaped' into Walt Disney World so we are seeing him everywhere. I kind of 'got it' when he is on the wake up call and has replaced Mickey at the World of Disney Store in Downtown Disney (watch out for him spitting at you).

It is an interesting theme that I noticed throughout WDW. I do wonder how long it will take until he is recaptured.

Stitch is a major character, because a) Lilo and Stitch did extremely well, as did the series b) the merchandise sells like hotcakes, c) most kids LOVE stitch.

Because he is cute and fuzzy! :stitch: Seriously, while I really like Stitch, Disney has this awful habit of shoving specific characters down our throats till we can't stand it anymore. Then they change to something new and work that to death. I am sure that Stitch will run his course soon and, once he is done being overplayed, guests will go back to thinking he is a cute funny little alien.

I think the same thing - but in terms of the ride, I really did not mnd it, and I will have to go on it again this Sept :thumbsup2

Stitch is popular with kids and adults alike.
He's cute. He's funny. I'm glad he's there.

Now if you ask me, I think there is too much of Pooh and friends in the park. We went to 1900 Park Fare for breakfast. Pooh was there. We went to breakfast at Crystal Palace. Pooh was there, too. Dinner at CP.. Pooh. We went to Epcot. Who was there? Pooh. Ugh. To me, Pooh isn't even a Disney character. Stitch is Disney.

I think Stitch is cute! Maybe cause I love the Poly and he is there. I think Stitch appeals to all ages because he is so mischevious! I love the princesses and Pooh is ok too, but they are all soooo good! It's nice to have a "bad" character (but not villianous!) to identify with! I do not let go of my MK map with Stitch on it -- they aren't available now ... and I can't wait to go on the Stitch attraction again in Nov! I  :stitch:!!

QFT!!!! I am so sick of Pooh being everywhere. I like Stitch much more. Though IMHO he does not belong on the phones or the monorail.

Not always...he wasn't on the recorded wake up call or the monorail recording on our first trip in 2004.

My son IS Stitch. It wouldn't be Disney World for him without Stitch. Two years ago he bought the biggest stuffed Stitch for sale at MK. We had to ship him home - I was scared the airline would charge us for an extra seat! I agree the ride is not so great, but Stitch himself is fantastic. He's somewhat like my son - mischievous but good hearted.

I absolutely hate Stitch......I hated the ride....and I've seen the movie, and I personally don't think it measures up to Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, etc...

It's quite simple....

Name another successful 2-D animated film from Disney in the past 10 or so years.

Personally, I adore Stitch!
The guests were crazy about him. Adults and children alike :)
he's just a hilarious character to interact with. He's appealing to both boys and girls, as well as older kids. He is cute and fuzzy, so girls think he's cute.
Boys and Teens appreciate how feisty he is. He will turn your backpack upside down and eat your cookies, but we all know he has a heart of gold :teeth:. He is in league with Chip and Dale!
I have seen children shriek in excitement, witnessing Stitch take over the monorail and exclaiming: Welcome to Stitch Kingdom!
Stitch is the most loveable little rebel we've had in a while.
I remember how EXCITED the little guests were when I told them how Stitch TP'd the castle and hijacked a van after his Great Escape and crashed into the the flowerbeds at Downtown Disney :goodvibes
LONG LIVE STITCH! :cheer2:

After four entertaining movies (Lilio and Stitch, Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch has a Glitch, Stitch! the Movie, and Leroy and Stitch) and a long running and successful Disney Channel Original Series based on the events in Stitch! the Movie, he is a pretty famous character. The ride is horrendous, and he doesn't belong in the monorail spiel or wake up call, but he does deserve something. I personally think that there is way too much PIXAR in the parks. Most of the new attractions, minus Soarin' and Everest, are PIXAR, and there will be another one where Millionaire was. Pixar is overdone, and Stitch deserves a good attraction with the other funny characters, such as Lilo, Jumba and Pleakley. That would make a better ride.

I agree there's a lot of Stitch. And Pooh. And the princesses.
I wish Disney would include more of the characters. There are quite a few classic Disney movies not represented at all. Where are the characters for us "old" Disney fans? :teeth:
My dream is to see good old
<---- EINSTEIN some day!

HOW old are you????!!! Of course Pooh is Disney! When I went last trip to Disney, all I wanted was Pooh (and friends) clothes for my baby!!
Stitch is very new. Pooh has been around, believe me.

Pooh rocks!!! :lmao: :rotfl2:
