My fave DVC to stay at and really looking forward to what they can do with the Studio setup. Looking forward to seeing some photos of the finished product. I am staying there this April. No expectation for a refurbed room but also booking for Jan 2027 and hope to get the opportunity to stay in one then.
I personally still think the murphys can fit just fine in the 1-bedroom and up villas - but you'd have to put them in an unorthodox spot - it wouldn't be convenient for the current TV location - when you first enter the living room area and kitchen, there are large wall spaces closer to the front door, where they have the chair. The main L-shaped couches under the windows could technically stay, and just add the murphy couch/bed where the chair is, mounted to that wall. You could even do a standard murphy without the couch part - that just folds down from that wall. The studios of course could just take away one bed and replace it with the murphy-couch (my preference personally as I often stay in a studio solo, and OKW has very limited seating with just the little table chairs - a couch would be welcomed).
In the multi-rooms, you could move the TV island - either reposition it pointed more towards the couches and murphy so it would be watched from that murphy location...or possibly even move it to the shelves and bar location behind the table - it could be watched throughout the entire living room, but admittedly would be pretty far away from the murphy couch at the back wall. I just think slanting the island 45 degrees towards the living room would give it a better angle for the addition of the murphy, and provide a little more room to walk past the open murphy bed (the current island angle might be pretty close to the end of the bed when open):
Rough approximation of what I'm thinking - murphy couch location at the bottom in red, empty frame of it when open. TV island repositioned to face towards couches. It feels like this could work to me.
The abundance of windows at OKW will make placement tricky in some units as shown above. I think it will be a welcome addition to studios. The tricky part that my son-in-law pointed out, is that the HVAC system runs through some walls (GV) and that makes mounting the murphy bed really difficult.
