Why is May so expensive - rental car

I am going May 8-15 and I cannot believe I cannot find anything under $200 for a compact car.

Anyone have any good codes or anything out there?

wow.....my current ressie for $180 total came up $360 using their codes guess we're sticking with what we have (5/1-5/10, dolphin, economy)

Not sure if you are looking for a car from where you live to make the drive or if you are looking for a car at MCO.

I can say to just keep checking. I am driving down and just booked directly through Hertz website for a MINIVAN for under $400 for May 6-15. Everywhere else it would have been about $800 total.

With the link that you gave to this site, it says visa at the end. Do you need to use a visa credit card to purchase the rental or can you use any credit card? Thanks

It IS super expensive; i was able to get down to $582 for a minivan 5/1 - 5/15 on budget. I haven't rented using budget before, so i hope they are decent. I know some are better than others. I've used alamo & enterprise in the past.

Will check closer to dates for some last minute special deals hopefully.

Will post if I find any sales for early may.
