AHHHH you took the reverse main street photo from the castle entrance!!! Yes! It's such a rare shot to see (sadly) but oh such a great shot.

In Philharmagic (best show in my opinion btw) the smells seem to be hit and miss. My very first time there years ago the smells were really strong. In others not so much. So no, you're not crazy.

That's awesome that Jessica did the Barnstormer. When I was her age, um, no chance. Present day, on the other hand...

I love that photo too! It's a good one. Thank you! Everyone in my family said they didn't smell anything! I was like no! there was a scent of sorts! Jessica was very brave on this vacation. I was impressed!

Yah there were a lot of people. The resort was decently crowded. The bus stops were only ever crowded in the mornings before and near park opening. We packed a lot in on the first day.

As I mentioned before, I had made letters for each day from a different character.

Along with the letters I had also made a “Ride Challenge” book for Jessica







At the end of the first day, Jessica had three stickers; One for Pirates, one for Haunted Mansion, and one for Barnstormer.

Let me hear you RAWR! Day 2 (Part 1)

Mom and I woke up at 7:00 and we both took showers. We woke Dad, Jill, and Jessica up, and then the two of us headed to Boatwrights to get some breakfast.



We picked up a croissant, a muffin, two bagels, and coffee cake.

Our room was very close to Boatwrights. We hadnt noticed how close our room was to everything the first day because we had just walked the same route we did to get to the buses, which took about 8-10 minutes. But when we left right from Boatwrights we realized it was a walk less than 5 minutes.

On our way back to the room we saw these:

We got back to the room, ate our little breakfast, and got ready to go.


I braided Jessicas hair and put in one of the bow I had made for her

For those of you who werent a part of my PTR, I made letters for Jessica for each day of the trip from a different character each day and left a bow out.

Based on Jessicas bow and shirt you may be able to guess where we were headed&.

ANIMAL KINGDOM

We headed to the bus stop, got on a bus to AK and soon enough we were at our destination right at 9:00, exactly when the park was about to open.



We decided to stop and do some PhotoPass pictures! Woo! Yay, for PhotoPass!

We got through the park and headed straight for Kilimanjaro Safari. Jessica loves animals so we knew shed love this and we wanted to do it in the morning when most animals were out and while it was too hot.

When we got there the line was so far out of the queue but it only said 20 minutes. I went up to the CM and asked if that was really the wait time, she said yes it shouldnt take much longer than 20 minutes.



We got in line at 9:15 and we were on our safari adventure by 9:40. As we got closer we were handed one of those lovely red time cards, I always feel a little special whenever we get one of those.

Our safari guide was named Amanda, she was very informative and pointed out all the animals.

We disembarked our safari adventure, said goodbye and thank you to Amanda, and headed on our way.

As we were leaving, Jessica saw baby Simba and she had to have him. We told her we would buy him before we left the park but she HAD to have him then, the tears started and it just wasnt worth it to ruin the day at 10 in the morning, so we made a deal. Get Simba now, no other toys for the rest of the day.

So we bought Simba and went on with the day.

Thank you! We loved POR, we were on the Alligator Bayou section in building 18 which was a preferred room and our building was very close to the main pool and lobby and their was a quiet pool right next to our building.

Thank you! I thought it'd be a fool-proof way to make sure Jessica didn't have a meltdown over what she wore, or what we were doing because the characters decided for her.

“That was NOT fun!” Day 2 (Part 2)

After our Africian adventure, we decided Mom and I would go run and get fastpasses while Dad, Jill and Jessica waited in line for The Festival of the Lion King.

We split up and Mom and I sped walked all the way to Asia to get our fastpasses



We looked at the time and it was 10:15 so we ran all the way back to Festival of the Lion King and made it right on time.

Festival of the Lion King started and we were in the Warthog section. Cute!

I loved the monkeys and the birds, the whole show was very cute and it was nice to be in the AC for a little.

After the Festival was over, we decided it was time for some lunch.



Everyone got pizza except Jessica, and we all got soda for a little caffeine to keep us going.

Dad doesn’t under stand the Dis-world and our obsession with food pictures but he was starting to get in the spirit of things.

Jill had pepperoni pizza but I don't have picture but we all know what pepperoni pizza looks like.

While we were eating Jessica and I made a pin trade with an older CM. She was very nice and we liked her a lot.



After lunch was finish, we made our way towards the Tree of Life and stopped for some pictures!







The photographer asked us if we had done any magic shots and if we were interested in doing any. We hadn't and Jessica wanted to, so we took some Tink pictures.





After the photoshoot, we decided we’d stop and watch this lovely show.



Bad idea… I repeat, BAD IDEA!

Jessica HATES bugs but thinking its just a cartoon it’ll be fine.. we were wrong, extremely, extremely wrong. She started crying and screaming, oh my lord, so bad.

Wasn't my idea ... okay maybe it was.

Definitely the biggest meltdown of the trip.

After the meltdown commenced, we headed over to Everest to use up those fastpasses. With our fastpasses it was about a five minute wait.

I asked Jessica what she was about to do, then after I asked her how it went.

She said “BADD” but she did really like this ride. She told me that it scared her at first but she “got over it”.

I'm not quite sure what Disney was thinking with It's Tough To Be A Bug.
I've seen many an adult reduced to tears that I can only imagine the impact on a child. Don't get me wrong, I like the show and take great joy in watching and listening to all the screams throughout, (actually I enjoy that more than than the actual show) but not when it's a child.

Nice to see Jessica was able to conquer Everest though. That's pretty impressive!

We have seen it's tough to be a bug once, I'm with Jessica I hate bugs. So seeing this show once was enough for our whole family. Maybe when she gets older she will like Expedition Everest. The pictures came out really good.

I'm sad to say I've never seen FOTLK or It's Tough to be a Bug. Not sure why! I've heard FOTLK is amazing and a highlight of many trips! I'll have to make sure we squeeze that in in December.

I'm glad she secretly liked Everest. I know when I was a kid, I secretly liked a lot of the big rides but talked myself into thinking they were terrible. This didn't end until, I kid you not, I was like 17... Pretty pathetic.

Your TR is just so great! One of the best I've ever read!

I love the Ride Challenge and the letters you wrote for Jessica. How incredibly sweet! I Bet it was so much fun for you to make, not to mention to see her face when she received them!

Great updates, Grace! I'm so glad Jessica was at least trying all of the rides! Even if she doesn't like them at the end, at least she's going! Can't blame her for the meltdown on ITTBAB! It took me 6 trips to WDW before I finally tried it...and I was mid-twenties!

FOTLK was a great show, we had never done it before either. At least not to my knowledge. I used to do the same thing, talking myself into thinking the big rides were terrifying too! Thank you so much! That is so kind of you to say! It really was so exciting to see her react. Every morning she wouldn't want to get up and I'd just say "don't you want to read your letter?" and she would be up in a second.

Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming. Day 2 (Part 3)

After Everest, it was just about 12:20 so we headed over to get inline for Finding Nemo the Musical. The line hadnt formed yet but at 12:30 the opened a rope and let us walk down and form a line, we were the first people in line! Woo!

While we were waiting, we used our lovely squirty fan things that we love so much, we would spray and fan each other and it was getting on the people around us but in that heat no one seemed to mind.

At about 12:50 they let us into theater, we sat right in the middle on the midlevel.

They came right in front of us a couple of times it was so cool!

IN THE BIGGGG BLUEE WORLD! [video]

Once our under sea experience was over, we made our way back to Asia to grab one necessity.

But we made a brief pin stop on the way.



This CM did a grab bag, 100+ pins, you reach in and grab one but you cant switch if you dont like it. I agree to his terms and conditions, handed over one of my own and reached in that bag of mystery and felt around a little. Once I was confident with my blind choice I pulled my hand out to find a pluto haunted mansion pin.

Nothing of any interest to me so I pawned it off later on it the trip but hey, c'est la vie.

After our trade we headed over to Asia



We found our favorite cart with our favorite snack.

We grabbed our snack and headed out. We stopped briefly for pictures, and some bugs& and then made our way to the bus stop.




After looking at some grasshoppers and taking some pictures.

We got on the bus and headed back to the hotel but stopped briefly at the main building



Then we walked back to our room







We got back to our room, we walked down to the big pool and swam, the we came back to the room and took a quick nap. We woke everyone up at 5:15 and got ready to head to a park.
