Why is Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters down?

Can anyone at DLR now confirm it it's closure? It's listed as being closed on the DLR website, but I saw no mention of it on any other refirb lists. Anyone know why it's not open?

Obviously I'm quite disappointed if it is closed for the next few days. My kids and I enjoy that ride, it's an easy FP ride to save for later, and it can hold lots of people in line, which, for a crowded couple of days, is a big deal.

I haven't heard any reason for it being down so I'm assuming it's just down for routine maitenance. All rides have to go down at some time in order to keep them working properly (except apparently Indy, lol). Sorry you'll be missing one of your favorites.

I just checked the site "Park Hours and Schedule-Disneyland resort" and found that the "Buzz Light year Astro Blasters" will be closed from November 13th to 17t. Are only 4 days , I imagine that is to place Christmas decorations. We arrive the 13th , the good thing is that the last day on the DLR will be the 19th, we are going to ride and enjoy the game.

I just checked the site "Park Hours and Schedule-Disneyland resort" and found that the "Buzz Light year Astro Blasters" will be closed from November 13th to 17t.

That's interesting because the Disneyland website says it is closed now through Nov 17.

I was hoping someone there now could confirm its closure. I would love it to wait to close til the 13th since that's the day we leave!

If not, we'll find out tomorrow!

Its closed for some standard refurbishment and repairs. Nothing major or out of the ordinary. Its scheduled to reopen the 18th.

They were having trouble with some of the flooring coming up when we were there last week. It was down a couple of times for floor repairs on a couple of days. Could be the patchwork wasn't cutting it.

I think it's odd because BLAB was just down for "normal maintenance" this past July, not 4 months ago...

When I was there is October, a lot of the "cars" were covered, I am assuming because they were broken, I am used to seeing a couple, but I counted about 10, which is not normal by Disney Standard. I am sure there is something going on that they need to address.

I just left DLR on 11/10 and rode it alot because I thought it was supposed to go down sometime while I was there. As PP stated, a lot of cars were covered maybe one of every five was not even in use (maybe broken, guns torn off, not shooting, general disrepair). The ones that weren't covered I thought looked pretty rough. Lots of peeling paint and scratches where people have slid in and out so much. One look at the condition of the cars and I thought "no wonder they're taking this down." On the otherhand, if the PP is also true about being down recently for maintenance, why couldn't they have polished everything up then???

We sure missed it this weekend. That is our go-to ride for FPs once many of the other FPs are or too late. It has been looking a little shabby. I hope they make it look nice. The signs there said it was ungoing "beautification".

Yep, it would have been helpful to have another FP ride open to use later in the day when it got CRAZY crowded. It also would have helped ease some lines in other places.

Oh well.

I'm looking forward to our return in July when Star Tours is open again!
