Why I'm Voting Democrat

Here's why:

Dawn, anyone who posts so singlemindedly about the same topic are typically trying do one of two things: 1.) You are making an honest attempt at trying to change others' minds or 2.) You're doing your best to irritate and anger those that don't agree with you.

So that leaves me with your desire to stir the pot and anger other posters. If that's not the case, then why do you do this every day?

Now, if your rationale is going to be that it's supposed to be humor, I'll say once again that you're a smart lady and you know exactly how it would come across so that excuse is merely that... an excuse.

Rick, Neither #1 or #2. I understand that the Obama Followers are not about to change their minds, nor am I attempting to irritate or anger those who disagree with me. I suggest you do what I do. I see tons of posts that I , 1. Won't agree with based on the topic.
2. Have absolutely no interest in.
So what do I do you ask????? I scroll by. I don't open them, if I do open them and they do not interest me, I don't respond to them. I don't take the time out of my day to lecture the poster on what they should and should not post. Posters decide what interests them, what they find humorous, (I actually found this humorous as a counterbalance to the "why vote Republican thread) or what annoys them. Have a nice day....if you can and next time, resist the urge to open a thread if it will increase your blood pressure.

You're giving your posts far too much credence or power. I can absolutely assure you my reactions don't include elevating my blood pressure, nor do I get angry, nor do your posts create any other emotion beyond confusion as to the purpose of your posts.

And I don't typically open most political posts. YOU were the one that made the first "Why I vote Dem" post on that thread and I was genuinely curious because I honestly thought you had some sort of change in your position and I was fascinated. I opened it and quickly realized I was wrong and it was simply more of the same.

I was asking a sincere question as to what your motives were. You chose to get angry when being questioned. That's your reaction, you're entitled to it. There are a lot of other posters that have asked you the same question I did, and not in a very polite way, and perhaps that's why you're on the defensive when I'm trying to genuinely find out why you intentionally post inflammatory comments with respect to the Democrats, the liberals, etc...

ETA: There is a reason why I ask you because you and my Dad have a LOT in common insofar as politics (although he thinks Bush is a complete idiot and is embarrassed to admit he used to support him) and whenever he says something MUCH like what you say, even some of the posts you've made about Obama, I finally just asked him why he always said those things when he knew I wasn't going to agree. He just chuckled and said, "Because I know it pisses you off." I laughed at that. He laughed at that. I knew that was going to be his answer and just wanted him to acknowledge it. And I respected him for admitting it as well.

They are in business to make money. They are not in business to break even and give the rest of their money to the less fortunate.

I didn't say they shouldn't make money.

I didn't say their profit margin was either too high or to low.

You claimed that a raise in taxes make prices go up.

I pointed out that a cut in taxes did not make prices go down.

You went off on some tangent that had nothing to do with whether or not tax rates make a difference in price. :confused3

I can't decide if you are doing it on purpose or if the concept is just a little too advanced for you.

Andy

I am not angry at all. In fact, I am not even mildly annoyed. You asked a question and I answered it. It was as simple as that.

Wait, so just woke up this morning with those random thoughts in your head and figured...I need to share? Priceless...:rotfl:

Leave her alone. Go post on your "we love Obama and what he stands for , eventhough we have no clue what it is" thread

Not true. He is going to keep the taxes on large Corporations the same and lower taxes on small businesses.

Please make sure you go to an accountant if you ever open a business.

That has to be about the dumbest thing I've read in the political threads. Since I’ve seen it several times I assume some talking head such as Rush keeps saying it.

Prices are set based on revenues, expenses and competition.

Only a republican would be simplistic enough to believe there is a direct correlation between taxes and prices.

The oil companies received tax credits under Bush.... therefore the price of gas went down... right? :rotfl:

Democrats after 8 years now control the house. The Senate is effectively tied. Neither is veto proof.

The president controls the Fed. The president also controls foreign policy.

The 1st fiscal budget under the current congress had the lowest deficit since Clinton. The 2nd fiscal budget once the rebate and bailout funds were removed was the 2nd lowest deficit since Clinton.

Any other information you need?

I too own a business. the dumbest thing one could possibly think is that Businesses don't pass their tax increases onto consumers. Anytime an increase arrises, weather it be fuel, material, taxes, etc, it gets passed on to consumers.

In manufacturing today, there are so many "surcharges" because of this type of thing...fuel surcharge, heating surcharge. You need to listen before you can call someone stupid. There is an old saying, " You can't listen, while your mouth is open."

Facts don't matter to certain posters here.
Then how come you have never responded to the facts I posted? I still await an answer to a very simple question. How is Obama going to be able to afford the new spending he has in mind? He says he's going to do it with the new money he gets from taxing the rich. But, the new spending is in the trillions, the tax cuts by his estimates will bring in billions. Please explain this.
