Why I'm Voting Democrat

Because:

McCain doesn't have a clue, his campaign is staffed and run by lobbyists and it is time for a real change in the Executive Office.
.

I highly, highly doubt that ANYONE in EITHER national party is going to bring real "change" to the Executive office.

Neither National Party leadership wants change, they just want to be the ones in power. Change is just a marketing soundbite to garner votes for "thier guy."

If a third party, non-affiliated candidate was running (and would win) - then I'd actually believe some change may really happen.

I am voting Democrat because I believe that everyone has the right to marry whom they choose as long as they are of legal age and consent.

I am voting Democrat because I don't believe that anyone has the right to tell me (or any other woman) what to do with their body.

In all fairness, because I also posted this in the repeat thread:

I'm voting Democrat because I have decided that option is the most in line with my beliefs. It's not a 100% fit, nor is it probably an 75% fit, but it is my decision and it is an informed one.

I do not appreciate anyone's pathetic attempts to shine a light on their better American-ness because they have a different idea of what is the better road to take. We all want what's best for the country, we just have very different ideas on which road to travel on. I also don't see the need to belittle or mock my voting decision because you don't agree with me. I also don't think the world is simple enough to neatly tie all voters into 2 little boxes with red or blue wrapping paper, or with not so clever little statements like the OP.

Very well said.

 Happygirl, you freaked me out when I read the thread title and saw your name under it - I thought you'd defected. :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Glad to see you're still with us. ;) :thumbsup2

I think you missed the point of the article. Two party government is better than single party. This article called for a Dem President with a Rep Congress. We no longer have a Rep Congress so using the logic in this article you should vote for a Rep President in 2008.

I think this is why many undecides will split the ticket when they walk into the voting booth.

Dawn, I had to check this thread out just to see if you had really done a 180 and changed (I didn't think you would). I like all the points made, but have to agree that there is no changing anyone who has their mind set on Obama. All we can do is cast our votes on November 4th and see who wins. Either way, I hope the new POTUS does a good job. I'm sure you and I will vote the same.

I Agree!

These DAILY posts made me change my mind :thumbsup2

Welcome to the light :)

I'm voting republican because I want to market to go down even farther so I can have some good deals for my 401K

As far as Obama raising your taxes more than McCain will Dawn, factcheck.org is your friend. :goodvibes

I'd vote Democrat, just to see what Dawn would do if Obama won ;)

(Since I don't get a US vote, I'm comfortable using my imaginary one for my own amusement :rotfl: )

Obama wants to raise taxes on Corporations. Funny thing is Corporations don't pay taxes. They pass that cost on to us. Therefore I can only deduce that Obama wants to raise taxes on everyone.

Who is in control of Congress?

Obama wants to raise taxes on Corporations.

Not true. He is going to keep the taxes on large Corporations the same and lower taxes on small businesses.

Please make sure you go to an accountant if you ever open a business.

That has to be about the dumbest thing I've read in the political threads. Since I’ve seen it several times I assume some talking head such as Rush keeps saying it.

Prices are set based on revenues, expenses and competition.

Only a republican would be simplistic enough to believe there is a direct correlation between taxes and prices.

The oil companies received tax credits under Bush.... therefore the price of gas went down... right? :rotfl:

Who is in control of Congress?

Democrats after 8 years now control the house. The Senate is effectively tied. Neither is veto proof.

The president controls the Fed. The president also controls foreign policy.

The 1st fiscal budget under the current congress had the lowest deficit since Clinton. The 2nd fiscal budget once the rebate and bailout funds were removed was the 2nd lowest deficit since Clinton.

Any other information you need?

I have a business and my wife is an accountant. I know how it works. You must live in a dream world.

And Dems love to blame the oil companies. Their profit margins have stayed the same over all of this turmoil.

I frankly don't believe you.

So they didn't lower prices when they received tax cuts? Prices instead went up?

But I thought you said there was a direct corrolation between tax rates and prices? :confused3

I wish I could take the prize for writing this. It goes to another brilliant sp?? Republican

Wow with that one link you've changed my mind :rotfl2:
I can provide a hundred credible sources that disagree

I don't know you, I don't care what you believe

They are in business to make money. They are not in business to break even and give the rest of their money to the less fortunate.

Is this true?
Is OP reporting on her "Damascus Road Experience?"
Or, is it just more untruths and distortions by a rabid Sen. Obama basher?

do a search of my posts and you'll see I did so yesterday. thanks.

ETA: And although I did initially direct my comments Dawn, it was directed at quite a few folks on both sides.
Thank you for your clarification. I was hoping that this was the case.
