Why I like Disney World

I agree. There's more to Disney than just theme parks. The resorts and parks are clean, friendly and well-maintained. POR isn't the poshest hotel I've ever been in but its quiet and lovely and the pools and food court are great. I've never had a bad meal at Disneyworld and we eat CS most of the time. We stay on site and use Disney transportation so we have an easy, worry-free vacation. If I win the lottery tomorrow I'll be Disneyworld on Saturday!

If I won the lottery, I'd be buying dvc tomorrow-and we would be there as fast as the plane could fly us.:goodvibes

We have never had a bad vacation.
We've had incidents occur on trips which were not pleasant, but we try to focus on the positives rather than the negatives.

We've had both offsite and on site disney trips.
They have all been wonderful.
The reason we've returned another 10 times, and have a further trip planned for this august and next October.

The parks are simply full of magic, we ride, eat, wander, ride, eat, wander and repeat until fatigue hits and it's time to leave.
Whether we visit for an hour, or for 4-the atmosphere fills us with joy.
We also enjoy visiting resorts, whether we're just browsing, eating or staying there.

I will be booking fp+ tomorrow and I'm excited making my final choices:bitelip:

Why does having a negative review mean you don't like some thing?

I like Disney but the food sucks. I'm not afraid to say it, Disney food is mediocre at best and I've had meals where I've asked for a refund. Are we so sensitive that when some gives their opinion we cry "you don't like me"

I never recommend this site for honest reviews, we're great for information but we get our panties bunched in a wad if someone gives a bad review.

Most of the people posting on the Dis are long time WDW fans and they had there systems all set to work the FP 1 and dining, etc. With the change now to using MB and FP 2, they to have had to change their park systems and change is rarely a good thing to people happy with their old system. So they complain, many over and over and over again.

Their is also the new UNI fans, some of them feel they have to come here and put down anything Disney to support UNI.

Now that said, As much I know Disney and WDW is still head and shoulders above anything else in the world, I agree with the previous poster that Iger and his merry group of bean counters have one a good deal of damage to WDW.....cutting left and right.

I am hoping that he has woken up after seeing 7DMT which is a amazing attraction, showing so much of the old Disney style, abilities and pixie dust.

I hope it means a turn back to the WDW of the 80 and 90's.:thumbsup2

I love Disney World, too! I've been privileged enough to travel to many different countries in this world and Walt Disney World is still my vacation destination of choice. I have been going to WDW since I was 8 years old back in 1992 and even did the college program when I was 21. I've seen fantastic changes and changes that have left me scratching my head, but I always come back. Why? Because I love Walt Disney World. I love Disneyland, too, for those interested. I love that you listed what you love about each of the parks. I thought I would do that, too, if you don't mind.

Magic Kingdom - I have to arrive for Rope Drop because I love that ceremony! The second the mayor appears, I have this huge goofy grin on my face. And, when I hear "Casey Junior's coming down the track..." and I hear that train whistle, I just about lose it. I'm like a 13 year old girl at a Justin Bieber concert! I love how the entire park just hugs you when you enter. I can't imagine not smiling as I enter under the train station, am hit with the sounds of Main Street, and see the castle in the distance. I love the Adventureland the most. I love Jungle Cruise, Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, Pirates, Tiki Room, and especially the Dole Whip. I love looking around in the shops. I love how well it flows into Frontierland. I love how relaxed I feel walking around Frontierland and then the excitement I feel as I ride Splash Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I love seeing the excitement in my daughter's eyes and seeing that same excitement in my husband's. I love eating at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe and hearing Sonny Eclipse. I love watching the boats for It's a Small World as I eat pizza at Pinocchio's Village Haus. I love looking over Haunted Mansion as I eat my clam chowder at Columbia Harbor House. I love Tomorrowland all lit up at night. I still tear up when I see Tinkerbell in flight or as the lights go out right before Main Street Electrical Parade.

Epcot - I love Livin' With the Land and all that I learn on it. In fact, I love The Land Pavilion. I love how much my daughter loves the hot air balloons on the ceiling. I love Soarin'. I love the smells from Sunshine Seasons and I especially love Garden Grill. I love how much time Chip and Dale spend with you and that when they leave your table, you know that you will see them again. I love rotating through a thunder storm, rainforest, desert, and farm scene. I love that they have a waiter there, Patrick, who will sing to me. I love Spaceship Earth and how amazing it is to see how far we have come and how much more we have to accomplish. I could spend hours in Mouse Gear and, while I'm not happy that they changed Imagination, I love that I can still see Dreamfinder's Dream Machine in there. I could spend multiple days exploring World Showcase. I love how friendly the cast members are there, especially in Germany and Norway. I love Maelstrom. As a child, my sister and I couldn't say that so we just called it Tricky Troll. My husband and I have passed this on to my daughter. She has named the trolls, too, and I love going on it and saying hello to Brutus, Clyde, and Alpha, Beta, and Gama (that's the three-headed troll). I love dancing at Biergarten, meeting princesses at Akershus, and watching Sergio, Serveur Amusant, and World Showcase Players. I love that it reminds me of countries I have been to and gets me excited about visiting new ones.

Hollywood Studios - This has always been my favorite park! I love the romance that surrounds the idea of "a Hollywood that never was and always will be." I love the streetmosphere characters that bring this idea to life. I love putting my hands in the prints outside Great Movie Ride and cannot take a trip without putting my hands in Annette's prints. I love Great Movie Ride. Everything about Great Movie ride, actually. I love the artifacts in the queue, the movie trailers in the theater, and the ride itself. I love that there is no ride better themed than Tower of Terror and no restaurant better themed than Sci Fi. My husband and I consider Mama Melrose to be our restaurant and love that we go there each trip. I love Fantasmic. I love seeing Mickey conduct the water, shooting sparks out of his fingers, and deciding that he can control his dreams and imagination. I love watching One Man's Dream. I love the museum leading up to One Man's Dream. I love sitting on Commissary Lane, eating a cupcake, listening to the theme songs, and people watching. I love pulling the umbrella on Streets of America and having it rain on me. I love pulling the rope outside of Indy and hearing the man yell. I love Muppet Vision 3D and looking around in the shop at the end. I love Animation Academy, but still haven't managed to take the drawing class. Mostly, I love walking around and thinking about all of my wonderful memories from working at that park.

Outside the parks - I love the hotels! I'm staying at Wilderness Lodge for the first time next month and could not be more excited! I love the theme of Polynesian and it has been my favorite hotel to date, but Riverside in the Royal Guest Rooms is certainly trying to give it a run for its money. Art of Animation is so much fun and I love The Big Blue Pool. I love riding the monorail around the resorts or through Epcot. I love eating at Chef Mickey's or Contempo Cafe and seeing the monorail go overhead. I love seeing Mount Mayday and Miss Tilly as I ride on the shuttle to a park. I love how friendly the cast members are and how they do everything in their power to make you happy.

Is it always perfect? No. But there's no place I would rather vacation.

We too travel all over the world but the Disney experience is our favorite. We only go to parks one day each stay. We love the resorts, the ambiance, yes even the food. I have had some of my best meals ever at California Grill, narcoosees, artist grill, brown derby and so on. We have over 1400 points so we are blessed that we can go often. We also love Vero Beach and Aulani. Been to both many times And of course the cruise. Get excited every time I see the smokestack!
